My little boy (6 weeks) had tongue tie release procedure yesterday and I’ve noticed he’s being so fussy around feeding time and he’s not latching on properly no matter how many times I relatch him. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what did you go to help soothe them

Yes, we had the same. And baby's tongue tie procedure was done at around 6 weeks too. It is just them learning how to re-use their tongue. We combi feed, so when he wasn't taking the boob, we used the bottle, it is easier for them to get the milk out of there, so his tongue wouldn't get as tired. You can try popping them on the boob after a bottle for a bit more practice, it just gets the initial fast hunger out of the way. Other than that, lots of skin to skin feeds, calm environments, changing positions to rugby hold helped, and I also stopped using the nursing pillow during this time as that seemed to help too. There were only a couple of feeds that this had to happen for, and it went back to normal after that.
I hadn’t tried changing position, thank you. I’ll try this and see if it helps.

Exactly as Sophie said! I found it was better within 2 days but probably took him about 2 weeks to properly relearn how to feed x
did he start drinking longer and less frequently too? Right now, he’s feeding every hour and a half. I was told her shouldn’t be drinking this frequently
