Rolling / crawing tips

I am curious. For those of you that have your babies rolling and / or crawing already, what did you do to make it happen ?

Like more specifically, when did you start Tummy time ?
Do you keep baby bare feet ?
Do you have carpet at home ?
When you lay baby down do you have toys around ?
Ect..

My baby is 8 month old and still doesn't roll :(

I have seen my son only really roll in his crib but he is ‘almost’ crawling. So funny what kids do and they truly go at their own pace. I’m trying to be patient because I can tell he wants to crawl so bad but he just need a little more time. I have him doing more tummy time, a lot of sitting up, having him reach for toys, etc. I also have him do some tummy time in front of a mirror so he can see himself and try to reach.

I just practised rolling with my baby everyday I used toys to encourage, I did tummy time from the beginning, I keep him barefoot all the time to encourage him to use his feet to help him move. I did elevated tummy time to encourage his lower back muscles n strengthen them, I also put him on his hands and knees regularly n practiced that everyday, I showed him how to sit up from lying down and practiced that everyday. I did exercises with him to engage and strengthen his core as well. I am constantly doing things and playing with him and practising things with him for 70% of my day everyday. Atm we are practising standing independently now he can pull to stand and cruise. Just do it as much as u can and repetition is key, but also babies learn at different rates so I can't confidently say that me doing all that got my baby rolling, crawling and standing so early x

I tried everything for my son to crawl. He didn’t start crawling until a week before his 1st birthday and I managed to get him to crawl for his teething gel as he loved using it 🤣 I did the exact same with him standing and walking x

Started tummy time from 2 weeks old (chest to chest) and built it up slowly, my son loved tummy time.

My boy never wears shoes, only socks, floor boards at home however occasionally he is on rugs.

I rotate his toys daily so he does not get bored, i spread them out so he could move and explore each one.

He rolled for the first time at 7 weeks old, then he stopped and started again at 4 months but I did help him e.g. gently twisting him from the hips.

when his health visitor came round last week she said she wasn’t worried as some babies just hate rolling & as for crawling he may end up being a bum shuffler instead xx

Love the questions! I did tummy time a month after his belly button healed (2 months old).
I have carpet, but my family has hard flooring, so he really had to work. I just guided and played on the floor with him. It's something that will happen with guidance, like walking.
for the rolling, I put a lot of things in his field of view to encourage rolling plus moving his arms to help him roll otherwise he would have dislocated his shoulders by now with what he was doing. He started rolling at 4.5 months, then crawling at 5.5 months, now cruising and standing without holding and his is 9.5 months.
Also, he was born 4 weeks early, so being a preemie gave him an additional 4 weeks to meet milestones.. I hope this helps.

Small head reported following 20 week scan

Has anyone else had it flagged that their baby is in the bottom 5th percentile for head size?

They said everything was fine whilst we were in the scan and then I got a phone call the next day saying that it’s on the small side and we’re being referred to a paediatric specialist at St George’s. Has anyone else had this and how did things go??

Would you bring 9 week old to a family party of 35+ people?

These are also people who will want to pass the baby around and get a turn to hold him. He just got his 2 month shots two days ago

Exercise 6 weeks after c section

What movement did people start to introduce? I won’t do anything too vigorous until I’ve seen the pelvic physio as I don’t want to compromise anything that may have been extremely weakened through pregnancy! But just wondering what types of classes/movement people started off with?

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲
