I truly don’t know what to do at this point. My daughter turns 2 next Friday and her separation anxiety has never ever let up. She goes to daycare twice a week for four hours, and she has screamed at drop off the entire 9 month school year. She doesn’t want to leave at pickup, so I know she is happy there. She loves her teachers. She also screams bloody murder every single night when I put her in her room for bed. When she finally goes to sleep, she sleeps all the way through the night. This is so difficult to deal with every single day. I have played sleep sounds, I have held her until she falls asleep and she immediately wakes when I put her down, I’ve sat next to the crib, I’ve tried stuffed animals, night lights, pitch black room, and we have the same routine every single night. I’m feeling hopeless. Any advice would be helpful. 🙏🏾❤️

I don’t have a solution for daycare as I haven’t experienced it yet but I can maybe offer a suggestion for night time sleeping.
The things that works for our son are timers and cuddles. Before he goes into his bed, he gets mommy snuggle time. I ask him how many minutes he wants to set a timer for (usually two$ and we lay in our bed and sing night time songs until the timer goes off. Then I take him to his crib and we say our night time words (which are the words from I love you forever) and then I give him a big kiss and hug and put him in his crib. If he starts to fuss, I tell him if he needs me in the middle of the night, he can call for me and I will be there. But, he has to first fall asleep in his bed. This works almost 99.9% of the time for us.
Maybe try this out and see if you have success!
this is very sweet! I will give it a try. I tried prompting her by saying, “we’ll sit in our chair, read a story, sing a song and then bedtime”. She usually says ok, and as soon as the song is over and I stand up, she starts crying. But maybe the timer might help. Definitely willing to try ANYTHING!! Thank you 🙏🏾

We’ve had terrible night time separation anxiety too. I wish I had a solution. Currently the only thing that helps is when she knows I’m not going to work the next day 🫠
solidarity. I hope it gets better. ❤️

What are you doing when you drop her off? What kind of attention is she getting? Hugs cuddles extra kisses? Kids are smarter than we think. Sometimes saying bye giving hugs and kisses and trying to dip out is just what they need. I can guarantee it doesn’t last long. I’ve been in childcare for 13 years
I try to be very quick. I give her a big hug and kiss and say, “I’ll be back soon. I always come back. Bye bye!” And then I just turn around and go. If I drag it out any longer she screams and cries harder.

I’m sorry you’re going through this!! Remember it’s all a phase at this point! She may always be very close to you but she won’t always cry! I’m sorry :(
thank you so much. I just hate that she cries, feels anxious, and scared. I’m definitely looking forward to the day she doesn’t cry when we part. 🙏🏾❤️
