Consultant care - 2nd pregnancy- first birth blood loss

When I was in labour with my first, I had a lot of bleeding and lost 1.5 litres of blood for a natural unmedicated birth.

I’ve now received a letter from the antenatal clinic for a consultation when I’ll be around 20-22 weeks pregnant.

I’ve been informed it’s because of the blood loss by my midwife.

Has anybody experienced this before? Or can shed some light on what to expect?

If this is your 2nd+ pregnancy, do you know how much blood you lost with your first? Apparently natural you should lose 500ml and c-section 1L, anything more is classed as a PP haemorrhage, but this was not disclosed to me at the time of giving birth.

Oh how strange. So I lost between 1.5 and 2 litres of blood during my natural birth and they wanted me to have a blood transfusion - which I declined. They kept me informed and I had to inject myself for 10 days after giving birth. I have a consultant appointment at 16 weeks, and then following up appointments. I think it’s more for your ease more than anything else

I had to have 6 weeks of injections because of the blood loss, but it wasn’t disclosed to me as a PP haemorrhage unfortunately. I then didn’t have any follow up appointments!
This is partly why I’m a little confused/concerned, as it seems quite underplayed until I’m now pregnant with my 2nd and they listed the concerns they have now.

I had my Midwife booking appointment on Monday and I’ve been told I’ll be Consultant led, which I knew from my last Pregnancy.

I laboured at home for a home Birth for 70 hours, however, ended up having an emergency C-Section which had a lot of complications included myself and my Daughter nearly dying, I lost 2.5L of blood and have a ‘T’ cut C-Section which is why I need to be Consultant led!

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
