Has anyone had it at their 6 week scan, that all can be seen is an empty gestational sac, but it’s good news at a scan the week after!?? Feeling completely deflated, am I silly to hold out hope?
This is mean, got all the feelings, just missing the baby 😞

Learn more about our guidelines. This isn’t exactly what’s happening to me right now but you’re not alone. At my first scan my clinic couldn’t see anything. They had me come back a week later and saw the gestational sac and fetal pole. Then had me come back this week and it barely grew 😭 heart rate was 88 bpm but it should be above 100 by now. They told me to prepare to miscarry, something’s not forming right. I go back next week to confirm. It’s just such crap for us to go through all this pain. We get the positive test, symptoms, etc. and it’s still not right. I’m sorry. 😞
Yeah this happened to me! The first scan they saw nothing and suspected an ectopic pregnancy, the second they saw and empty sack. By 7 weeks they saw a little heart beat xx
@Chloe I’m so pleased you got your heartbeat by 7 weeks!!!
@Rachael I’m so sorry something similar is happened to you! It really is awful! I wish you all the luck for the future! X
Hi lovely! So sorry you're going through this. It's hell!! I had 4 consecutive miscarriages in 2021. Three of which were empty gestational sacs. However, when I had my second child last year, I went for the early scan & the sac was completely empty. Went back 2 weeks later & there he was. So do not lose hope, everyone's different & even if you're a few days out, you may not show on the scan yet 🤞🏻 keeping everything crossed for you xxx
@Adelle wow. That’s giving me all the hope! Thank you so much for your reply! Was this with a frozen embryo transfer? Congratulations! X
