I’m having such a bad week. The last month things have been really difficult. We are waiting on a diagnosis. How do you cope??? Feeling very overwhelmed and like a useless mum. Every day mainly mornings before nursery seem to be a struggle this week. Maybe just a rough patch and stress. I find I’m alone and my partner just sees it as me moaning but I’m struggling so much, this is so hard 😞

Every day is a new day and some weeks will be tougher than others. This week my toddler is clingy, whiney (which he never is) and sleeping soo much. Idk if it’s the weather (been raining all week) or cutting molars or a growth spurt
He won’t nap without contact either.
It’s driving me insane having him touching me all day and literally up my ass but he’s only this little today. He needs me
What helps me is to play music or sit and read a book with him
Taking a bath or having a walk when my husband gets home

Been there...you take it one day at a time. You take control of what you can at the moment. You do your own research. But also you dont compare (easier said than done). You follow your instinct. You know what's best for your child even when you feel like you dont. Sending you big hugs momma!

I'm struggling right now too. My son is 5 and was diagnosed a few years ago. Something has changed in him the last couple weeks. He's more aggressive in his actions. It's time for me to buckle down and get serious about solutions.
she’s 3. She was referred over a year ago now so it’s just a waiting game. Just finding things hard. Shes constant pushing over and hitting her little brother too it’s such a shame. I keep telling her kind hands and gentle which she can do really well. But some days are worse than others. The think we’ve just had a really bad week. I feel like I’m failing her that idk how to help her. I try my best to make things easier for her not to overwhelm her but it’s hard xx
omg same! She’s soooo clingy and she never has been in her life. I feel the same I’m glad I’m not the only one. I can’t stand clingy 😂 but I know I’m her comfort! Yeah she usually loves a book but she’s been so overstimulated she’s been refusing. Thank you!! Xx
I try not to compare tbh I’ve stopped comparing her to other children who don’t have autism now. I think everything is just getting on top of me. I don’t want to be the mum who’s losing her cool and “telling off” my child especially when she can’t help a lot. I will het there. I try calm and gentle as much as possible! Xx
was it hard getting a diagnosis? I feel like this, a big change lately I’m not sure why. She’s been more clingy in nursery too but she’s a lot better behaved in there 😂. I think because they are very open space being able to run as she loves running! Which can be scary as she runs away a lot if I don’t have hold of her hand 😭. This too she’s hitting and kicking load atm I feel kinda deflated xx

Unfortunately its going to happen. It's happened to me. We aren't perfect. I treat my little one like a "regular" kid. I still show him how he should/shouldn't do certain things. The only difference is I provide him more time and resources to cope. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense. Some days are easier than others. One day you feel like you have it together and other days you are falling apart. And that's TOTALLY okay! You are your little ones favorite person even when they get upset. But you got this momma I believe in you! You just gotta believe in yourself ❤️❤️❤️

You’ll never be alone in this journey. Someone somewhere will have experienced similar. You’re doing great! 🫶🏻

It actually wasn't hard to get a diagnosis. I live in the States (Ohio), and I got in with a facility that councils children and adults with disabilities. I feel like my son is more behaved at his learning center too! I don't know. My son will run away too. He runs out of his classroom every chance he gets. I have a leash (tether) for him when we go out.

I have a 3yo autistic, and 2 yo son who isn’t. My 3yo daughter has always bullied my son, hitting him throwing toys pulling his hair! She thinks it’s hilarious thankfully the last month or so it has eased a lot. Could just be a rough week for her my daughter can go through that and it’s a struggle she don’t speak still so it’s a major guessing game that gets her even more frustrated x
Thank you everyone means so much! X
