Girls, please share your experiences on how you moved toddler to their own room and the toddler bed if you have a house with stairs.
My girl can climb out of the cot, but she doesn't do that. And her cot is still near to our bed in our bedroom. Ouelr bedroom and future kid's room on different floors. What do I do?
I am afraid of moving her from cot, cause she knows how to open doors and that means she will be able to go out of the room where we have a long stair.

Child safety locks everywhere. It is totally fine to make it so they cannot open the door and leave the room. What’s important is that you can get them in case of emergency. Just think of the room as one big crib. We also have a child gate at the top and bottom of the stairs. We have child locks on the closet too. Child lock cover on any plugged in outlets. If it’s not clear, I have high anxiety surrounding child safety haha!

I live in a townhouse and my son sleeps in his room by himself. He sleeps on the bottom bunk (we have 3 boys) and there’s a baby gate in front of his door.

We have baby gates at bedroom doors and stairs

I hate the idea of locking my child in his room at night although it seems to be a pretty normal thing parents do these days. We have a retractable baby gate for the stairs and have baby proofed all the door handles so if he wakes up in the night he can come down the hall to our room and that’s about it.

My son is in a big boy bed. We close the bedroom door and have a baby gate just in case
