Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a muddle.. so me being my unprepared self has left it really last minute to get my sons cot. It’s coming on Tuesday/Wednesday.. we went away and my son who’s 5 months slept in a travel cot and he had a lot of space we’ve come home, and he’s no longer settled in his crib.. it is smaller than the travel cot and he doesn’t have as much space to stretch his arms. Last night he was very fussy and woke up where he’s been sleeping through since he was about 3 and a half months. I’ve gone to put him to bed tonight and as soon as I put him in he just started crying and fussing. Tried for about 10 mins as soon as I picked him and put him in my bed he went straight back to sleep! My issue is I don’t want him to get used to sleeping next to me as I want him to sleep in his own bed! I’m still struggling 9 years later to get my daughter to sleep in her own bed for a whole night and really don’t want to have to do it again 😂😂.. should I just co-sleep for the next few nights or should I just resign myself to lots of fussing and being up majority of the night?

I’d just co sleep for a few nights. He’ll be able to sleep alone again if he’s been doing it for most his life anyway. If he’s not using you through the night for feeding etc and just wants the extra room then I think it’ll be an easy transition
It’s entirely up to you, if co-sleeping is not an issue for you both then you can continue to do it - there’s safe sleep guidelines on the Lullaby trust & co-sleeping is practiced worldwide!
If it does bother you, then you can restart with the day naps, also letting him play a bit in the crib before bed can make him comfortable there again.
Could also be a regression & if you don’t want a repeat of your daughter then you might need to power through !!
Selfishly… I’m doing a study right now on accessibility to classes for babies & toddlers. It’ll take just a minute to complete the survey and if you can spare it I’ll be forever grateful ❤️ https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DSN6ZS8
