To my moms who enjoy/ed breastfeeding. How hard was it or is it to start weaning a breastfed baby? How was your little one? And how were you? How did you do it and how long did it take?
My baby just turned 1, she’s was a nicu baby and was there for 2 months. I’m super attached i started breastfeeding when she came home and my baby is super attached. But I’m ngl so am i 😩. My boyfriend is ready for me to start weaning, i will say she is dependent on it for comfort and it’s hard for her to sleep without it. So he’s ready for me to stop.
Please advise.

I just don’t think it’s your boyfriend’s place to say or dictate! It doesn’t sound like you’re ready at all to stop.
I’m still breastfeeding my 18 month old and my husband is so supportive of it xx

I let ( and will let) my children self-wean. My daughter was 3.5 years old when she said "all done." It was bittersweet as I was pregnant which helped weaning. I enjoyed breastfeeding and had an amazing journey. I'm currently nursing my 25-month-old son and have zero intentions of weaning. As long as we both want to continue we will. It is our decision and ours only. I'm sure your boyfriend means well but his opinion shouldn't matter. It may be worth telling him even formula fed babies still sleep with a bottle at that age. Disclosure I definitely comfort nurse but the association with nursing and sleep was stopped before my children turned one.

My son self weened at 20 months. He was very very attached but I had a girls night for one night and my husband put him to bed. With cows milk. Came home and that’s what he wanted. Made it a lot easier on me. And nap time was still hard. Took about a week and he was fully weened!
