Hi ladies! I NEED some tips that worked for you (or anyone you may know) for increasing my milk supply. In the past week I’ve noticed a decrease and I would really wish to keep breastfeeding if I can. Any and all suggestions are more than appreciated😌🥲

Holding my baby longer each day had the biggest effect for me.

Thank you! I will fs give this a try!

Lots of calories and water, oatmeal, beer (non alcoholic if you prefer - I like Heineken 0.0 and Stella Artois 0.0), Oreos, lots and lots of rest and de-stress if you can

Coconut water / milk , body armor

Lots of water !!

Lots of food and lots of water!

Pump every two hours! It’s a bitch but it works

this is what I’m going to start doing. I honestly hate having to sit and pump consistently but I know it is supposed to help!

I second the beer. No joke it helped me !!! Also boobie bars

it gave me an over supply!

Power pump or pump after you’re done with a feed to tell your brain you need more milk (make sure you have the correct size flange)
Skin to skin
Mothers milk tea
Oatmeal
Beer works wonders
I don’t eat dairy so I don’t know about the milk based tricks
Incorporating flax meal into my diet helped too

i LOVE all of this! Thank you!

I’ve been taking the pump princess supplements from legendary milk and they helped me increase my supply over 5oz a day! My lactation consultant recommended them. They have a few different supplements, maybe one will work for you!

sounds exhausting! Do you still pump every 2 hours or just did at the beginning to increase your supply ?

just to boost supply. I did three hours at night it was brutal. Now i do every 3-5 during the day and 5-8 at night

I had one night that baby was hungry after just feeding and it lit a fire under my ass so hard. Now i have an over supply and a freezer full of milk

you had what? 😅

she was hungry still because i didn’t produce enough for the feed so i made my husband entertain her while i showered and waited half an hour to feed again. He was wanting to give her formula and i was determined not to

What worked for me I added 1-2 meals to your daily meal count. Drink milk lactation teas one in the am 1 before bed. Drink lots of water and I mean LOTS. During the day snack on oatmeal and lactation cookies. And drink water 😂 I’m serious about the water 😅

DEFINITELY need to be better at the water part 😅

Personally my supply was huge right after having my baby and it was all because my husband would express for me because I couldn’t do it. Nurses said that he was helping release a hormone that helps my supply idk the science behind it but any time I feel my supply get slower I just have good old hubby express my girls

I take fenugreek and have had great results!! Also a dark beer helps, my favorite is oatmeal stout

Ive never heard of it but I’ll look into both!

Oats, lactation cookies, Gatorade, liquid IV sugar free 🥰☺️🫶🏻

so you BF and also pump 3-5 times a day?

i pump after every feed! I was technically triple feeding. I would feed her on one side and pump on the other then give her the pumped milk. My one breast only gives out about 1.5 ounces and the other is 4oz in three hours

thank you ! I trying to switch to on BF but my flow is slow so baby gets frustrated.
You mentioned now you have an oversupply? This is what you were doing before and now you’re only breastfeeding?

that’s what built my supply. Now she really only takes boob first two feeds. She has reflux problems right now so she refuses the boob during the day. I’ll pump about 3am give her boob 6am and 9am, pump after both feeds usually. Then pump 12,3,6,10

how long would you say it took you to build your supply? I currently pump 4-5 times a day. I go long stretches at night and sometimes do not pump for 6-7 hours

probably 3 weeks of being consistent. It was my second month Pp that it boosted. I pumped twice at night and didn’t go longer than 4 hours. Like i said it sucked. How many months pp are you?

I’ll have to try, especially at night. I am four months postpartum. I average about 40 ounces per day which is more than my baby eats, but my flow is very slow so he gets frustrated

try sunflower lecithin or the pump princess supplement to help with flow

thank you I’ll try that! 🙏🏼
