my dog is my sidekick, she does everything and always by my side. i hope she loves my baby as much as i do!
currently she sleeps in our bedroom, normally in her bed on the floor beside me but mostly in the bed too. my question is, does anyone still have their pets sleep in the same room as a newborn or are they moved out the room?

My dog got kicked out for taking up the bed & my husband now sleeps downstairs because of his snoring š

Not a dog but I never changed my cats routine and they still sleep on the bed. I was really keen not to upset them and make them jealous of baby by changing how theyāve always been. But I do appreciate that cats and dogs might be different here.

My dog got extremely territorial when I was pregnant and he slept in the bed. It was so bad to the point where if I tried to move him, he growled aggressively and snarled. Safe to say he got kicked out of our bed and onto a dog bed. Both dogs have been on dog needs in our room but not going to lieā¦.they are obnoxious to have in the room with a baby. Makes the room stuffy, overly smelly and when they shake in the morning, it sometimes wakes baby up

3 people and 2 dogs in one room makes for a warm and smelly bedroom š debating kicking them out

My 2 dogs still sleep in my bed. When my girl (6 month) joins us in the morning. Thereās all 5 of us in the bed and Iām the one awake uncomfortable š¤£

I kicked my dog out of my bed and onto her dog bed when I was 6+ months pregnant, but then pretty much right after my son was born she was welcomed back into our bed lol

My cats taken a few weeks to adjust (baby is 7 weeks) but now is so protective and loving with her, last night she was really struggling and snotty and was affecting her sleep and he just lay there purring and watching over her x

My boy is my sidekick wherever I am he is! He still sleeps with me in my room, baby girl is in her. Next to me heās bottom of the bed, Iāll never movve him out of my room because soon she will be in her own room so he can still sleep with me but he will probably sleep outside her bedroom

My dog has usually slept with us in our room but those late night licking sessions since Iāve been pregnant have woken me from my sleep. So weāve tried to create a sleeping arrangement where heās not in the room at night I also think itās good for him to get used to sleeping away from us because once the baby is here I donāt want him to bark and wake her up

Ours was allowed to have morning naps in bed and we sometimes let her in once weāre fully awake etc now; we quite often co-sleep through necessity so it could be worth getting your dog used to not being in the room in case you end up doing the same. We also had the side down on the next to me during the early days and breastfeeding and wouldnāt have been comfortable with that being open and the dog being on the bed. We trust her but also itās risk mitigation and management x

We kicked ours out (I was sick of the dogs being on the bed before I got pregnant because the sheets got dirty so quickly and they started ripping them when they played on the bed). During pregnancy we moved them out of the bedroom and into crates in a different room. Has been such a great move as we can pop them into the crates at any point we need now during the day for visitors etc and they donāt have any issues with it and during the night instead of following me around or waking my partner up they just keep sleeping

My cat still stayed with us in bedš¤ my son slept in his crib next to us, and my cat was perfectly aware. Didnāt do anything to hurt anyone or anything. My cat has been with me through every part of my adult life growing up.

My dog used to sleep on the bed with my but mid pregnancy we stopped letting him on the bed so when we had a newborn we wouldnāt be risking the chance of our pup hopping up on the bed and accidentally landing on the baby. (We didnāt co-sleep with baby but I was in bed lots early postpartum)
We didnāt purposely move our pup out of the room although sometimes he would prefer to sleep outside the bedroom to avoid the occasional crying š
