Has anyone paid for the chicken pox vaccine? Whats your thoughts?
A wave of chicken pox went around the nursery just over 3 weeks ago, my LO seems to have avoided it 🤞 but some of the babies were so poorly with it :( so I’m thinking I should get the vaccine. Plus it’s cheaper than finding alternative childcare if she does get it.
But I don’t actually know anyone who’s opted for it yet…

I did consider it as my husband did have very sever complications when he had chicken pox as a child but speaking to docs there is no evidence to say our little one would react the same if she got it.
Still considering it but its not a huge issue for us to be the childcare if she is ill.

We had the first jab for our son and his second will be in another month. Pretty minimal reaction for him at least. Although I’ve seen reports that the nhs will add it to the standard vaccine schedule next January and they are planning a catch up for all kids up to age 7 I think. That being said I wouldn’t be surprised if the NHS thing doesn’t actually happen due to costs

We just had a chicken pox scare so really want to get her booked in

Thank you! I’m going to book it in now too
