Could anyone recommend a dairy free birthday cake? I was hoping for something plain like victoria sponge style that I could just decorate myself. But I don't know if that's a possibility as DF.. I've seen one option in Asda, but it was sponge cake covered in sheet icing and stars..

I was going to suggest Asda, could you peel off the icing and redecorate? Depends how big you want as well, M&S do a plant kitchen Victoria sponge, but it’s a small one. If you’re ok at baking though, just do a normal recipe and use a vegan butter/spread, that’s what I’ll do for my DF baby :)
maybe! I might buy one ahead of time and test taking the icing off to see how it turns out. I think it's pretty small, serves approx 10 people. Maybe I could get 2 and try to layer them on top to make it 2 tier, then it would also serve more.. I'm awful at baking otherwise I'd be up for that, but I've never made a successful cake before haha

Would you be willing to bake a cake? It's super easy, just swap butter with dairy free spread.

Hey the Victoria sponge cakes mixes in Tesco are dairy free- only add egg and water, tastes lovely aswell! My sons dairy free so I’m doing him a Victoria sponge cake-
The betty Croker vanilla buttercream doesn’t contain dairy and the Tesco vanilla flavour frosting is vegan☺️

^^ that’s obviously if you want to bake one but seems like a cheaper option then getting one made x
ooh I'll have to give it a go! Thank you x
