Learn more about our guidelines.Yes I am pretty sure! I had my planned C section on a Sunday! Depends on availability at hospital!
Yes but you should call and ask it depends on where you go.
They try to avoid this in the NHS due to less senior staff being available as it’s the weekend.
Of course, surgeons work 7 days. You can’t restrict women having babies to Monday - Friday 😂
Yes mine was on a Saturday summer bank holiday weekend
I only had the option of Monday-Friday!
NHS generally arrange planned C-Sections Monday - Friday to keep the weekends free for emergency etc. I have had 2 planned and was always on ever offered Monday - Friday.
I also know lots of others who were only ever given Monday - Friday dates.
I was only offered Mon - Fri, but that was my preference anyway as hospitals are notorious for having less staff cover at the weekends and I’d rather be there when there’s a higher chance of being discharged more quickly, etc. I had my first on a Saturday (emergency) and there was notably less staff on hand than there had been during the week when I was an in-patient. It no doubt varies from trust to trust, but I had such poor aftercare that I’m keen to have an entirely opposite experience this time around! I’m under a different trust this time, too.
I had mine on a Saturday but they mentioned at the time it was strange i was offered that, i think they had lots of caesareans to get through
My hospital usually does electives on a specific day. And it's not weekend
NHS is usually on a week day as there will be less staff available on the weekend.
Oh no!!! My provider directly said no ! I’m in California San Diego .
Where it was allowed - where are you folks at?
