Thrush

Has anyone had it and what was your experience?

My baby wasn’t really showing signs of having it, but I was super itchy. I had assumed it was because I got super cracked and was just healing. But it was becoming unbearable and sure enough we have thrush.

I’ve never had this with any of my other kids so I’m seriously stressed about it.

Baby is on oral antibiotics and I took an oral pill plus using the ointment and I’m hoping to kick it super fast. I’ve already washed and sterilized all my pump parts and baby toys and I’ve washed anything and everything that’s come into contact with babies mouth like blankets- clothes etc.

Did anyone need multiple doses to kick it, do you find it re occurring often, I’m a really clean person so I can’t believe this even happened 😭 I’m just panicking because on top of 3 kids this is just really hard to handle 🙃

So I bottle feed so didnt need the antibiotics myself but I never knew about this despite having an older child because she never had it as a baby. When my son had his 10 day check up he was caked in it. Went to the docs and was given the oral antibiotics. We needed a second week dose of it to fully clear it and it was still there at his 6 to 8 week check but the doc was happy that it would go on its own at thar point. He's now 9 weeks and its gone. It can be stubborn. I made sure that we sterilised his dummies, toddler dummies, and took extra care with the bottles. Daughter also got thrush so was obviously putting his stuff in her mouth at some point two so ended up on the treatment too 🤦🏻‍♀️ but managed to get rid of hers with a week treatment as noticed it when it was just starting on her bottom lip. Ah my daughter is on it for 14 days and so am I, but I breastfeed so this is honestly awful and I’m so scared we’ll pass it back and forth 🙃

it’s interesting, she’s the third baby I’ve nursed. I never had problems with the other two. So this is a first for me. Everything has been disinfected and I give her medicine, and then wait 5-10 minutes while I “clean” myself and nurse. My baby won’t take a bottle so unfortunately the only thing I can do is just clean myself before she feeds and after and then use the ointment . We seem to be improving but I have already disinfected all my pump stuff and her toys, and I’m washing clothes. I’ve been very OCD to make sure I clean everything constantly at the moment

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

C section trauma ?

Is it a thing to be traumatised by a c section delivery? I’m 4 weeks pp after having an emergency c section. I won’t go into the ins and outs to what got me there 😂
Nothing went wrong in the surgery at all, it was just incredibly intense, overwhelming and scary, but luckily my baby was delivered safe!
However I’m finding my birth experience quite difficult to even think about and when I do, I feel a horrid gut wrenching feeling, my heart aches and I just uncontrollably cry! My body feels really alien to me, like it’s not my own and I just feel really let down.
