So, I have seen an Arab/Muslim lady asked about why people use toilet paper, and whether we feel uncleaned.
Me personally, growing up I always pooped in the morning before my morning shower. It does feel cleaner there. But if I have to poop again during the day I wipe multiple times to make sure it is really clean. Sometimes even finishing with a little spit on the toilet paper.
Idk where this poop obsession came from , probably my kids talking about poop all the time.

no context, just regular poop talk.

Some people use water every time

Ah just saw the bit about drinking water. Idk

We have a bidet, only sprays doesn’t dry but some other $$ ones in Singapore and Malaysia do dry as well w the whole inbuilt seat. In Vietnam it’s a hole in the ground that’s the toilet and a bucket of water left there you use your hands to wash w water and people assume you will wash your hands really well w soap after that.

But spit? Why? 😩

The same sensible thing that European, African, Asian, Buddhist, Christians, Jewish, Hindus etc have done/would do. I don't know whether your reference to a particular group is deliberate but it doesn't sit right with me

I think the person is asking because in Islam hygiene is very much important and we have to wash our asses after poooping or peeing we don’t just wipe with tissue it’s called Istinja

Okay, I wasn't sure whether it was deliberate or not. Context matters, I know. My comment is more for anyone who might take it the very wrong way.

Even in less developed countries I’m sure the same importance of cleanliness after using the toilet would be exercised as for us Muslims if we don’t clean ourselves properly after using the toilet our prayers aren’t accepted we have a state of ritual purity we need to be in. However if someone literally had no access to water then they’d be excused and I’m guessing would just wipe and maybe use your spit method 🤣

I think they will find a way to clean themselves. Unfortunately, there are rich people all over the world who still dry-wipe even though they have access to unlimited water.

Muslim people clean themselves after using the toilet all the time. It's hygienic and prevents thrust, urine infections etc. Nothing wrong with the practice, is there?

I don’t think they’re saying there’s something wrong with it I think they’re just asking what people do if they don’t have access to water to clean afterwards

Then they will turn to western methods such a toilet paper. It is better than nothing.

If there is not drinkable water people boil sea water, rain water, and potable water. They find a way to clean themselves but yeah sure toilet paper would be a last resort. We have it for patting dry. Muslims are not going unwashed unless there are no resources.

I believe usually even if no access to clean safe drinking water, most people do have access to some water, which they could use for this purpose

If poor Muslim people do not wash like the option says....are poor non Muslims also dirty? We have access to clean water here and I have worked with some housed individuals who look like they are afraid of soap and water.

Muslims clean with water after each toilet visit and pat dry with toilet paper..we pray five times everyday so it is required of us to be in clean state. If no water then toilet paper or cloth as the last resort.

What does being Muslim or Arab have to do with this? 🤔

cleanliness is classed as half our faith in Islam. So we have rituals for cleaning ourselves and being in a state of cleanliness majority of the time

I’m not Arab bt I am Muslim. I’m a black Muslim from Africa and I can assure that were I come from in a 3rd world country even ppl without access to water will still find water to wipe their asses even if there is poverty. Where there is a will, there will always be a way!

ahh ok, thank you for answering ☺️

This question feels weird. I’m not convinced it’s being asked in good faith.

I think it’s just the wording is a bit off

because as Muslims we don’t just wipe with tissue we wash with water so I assume she’s just asking what do people do if they don’t have access to to water

thank you. Was confused as to why it would be different than others living in poor areas.
@Cerys that is what I was thinking. I honestly believe God will not discriminate if an ass is not cleaned well.
you do know that some muslims live in the desert. What if someone has very little water just for drinking. What do they do?
good to know

I am a Muslim. I know where people who are Muslim live. This feels like one of those sponsor a child ads where they take photos of people with flies on them 😭 like come on."Africa has no water" lord lmao. People store water. People use non drinkable water. Water wells. Running water from the tap is not the only water source on earth. Some people wash their clothes and their stuff in rivers. People in the desert have water. They aren't primitive. It's required to live??
To conclude. I am a Christian, and I always thought Muslims would make such a big deal with this as if non-Muslim people are uncleaned. I feel the judgment every time a muslim lady talks about cleanliness on this platform.
I just wanted to hear from them that in case there are no water, the person would still be fine in the eyes of God.
I go by God is Love. And I highly doubt God would not answer his children's prayers if their buttholes stink.
Don't even get me started with the fact that rinsing the butthole is not clean enough if you don't use soap. I KNOW for a fact that water only does not clean bacteria. So their assholes might still have bacteria, like all of us.
So let's end the prejudice on clean versus unclean assholes.
Peace and love.
Sorry my wording is strange and the typos. English is not my first language.

So you're an Islamophobe and a racist. Why didn't you just say that? What a waste of time.

No hate like Christian love is exactly what this post is.
@Zainab🗝️ haha. Look in the mirror lady. That question was bait for you.

Guess what
I do not care about you or your butthole.
I would rather be a barbarian than a bigot.
I'll stay savage and you can continue judging people some of who are from Jesus home town.

and here I was thinking it was an innocent question 😭. At least I learned some new things from this thread, I never knew about some of these differences in butt cleaning 😅

I could not imagine calling myself a follower of Jesus and then say that people in the desert are dirty.
Maybe give that Bible a dust off and actually read it for once.

Why make a bait question? Toilet paper is still the worst option.

For anyone who is curious I suggest looking up wudhu and tayammum so you can learn what this very ignorant person hasn't managed to. Bonus is you look up ghusl.

this person is butt hurt lmao probably about a post I made months ago called hygiene is cultural.

Wow there was a part of me that was just not informed enough to know if this was ignorant af but I'm not even surprised smh

If they do not have access to water to clean themselves then they can use other items to wipe themselves and it will be sufficient. God will not discriminate BUT if you had water and still chose not to use it then.. ew 😌

lol OP bhhhahahahhahah please get some therapy mama or jus log off social media. Go touch grass like others like to recommend bt Miss me with this BS explanation. Please get some healing from whatever disdain u have amongst Muslims or Islam. @Brittany definitely clocked the shade when she asked what does being Muslim or Arab have to do with this? Cuz all u were trying to do as a quote on quote “Christian” was to write a post with all this micro aggression! And then to end ur explanation with “peace & love” omg how passive aggressive. U must be a delight to around
@Sara and my point is, it is not "ew". It is ok. We should all be comfortable with other people who decided to wipe with TP or to wash with water. No party is better or cleaner. The ultimate clean would be to shower after and use soap to wash down there.
My problem is why some people discriminate and look down on others because they use toilet paper instead of rinsing, God does not discriminate.
@Jasmin I only have disdain towards people who think they are cleaner or better than others because they rinse each time.

Well that’s your opinion. We are allowed to have different opinions on cleanliness. It’s not illegal.
And some food for thought, if you had poop on your hand would you find it sufficient to wipe it with tissue instead of washing your hand?
I would wash with soap.
@Sara my opinion is not illegal either. And it is not racism or islamophobia.

And I don’t think anyone who believes washing themselves with water is better than using tissue means they feel superior/better than anyone else though? So I don’t understand why you’re deeping it so much that you created this post with a weird question.
