I think they're fab, but we have the yoto mini for our 2 year old instead. It's a cheaper alternative, really portable and has more longevity, lots of cards for as they grow. Our daughter absolutely loves hers!

I was really really tempted to get one, but when I saw all the Disney songs aren't the original movie songs and are sung by someone else, I knew my daughter wasn't going for that 🤣 I know I can make my own, then it doesn't look like the character and seems a little less exciting

Avatar

We have a tonies box and I got it for my daughter with her favourite characters - peppa pig, Paddington, blippi, and JJ from cocomelon. She actually prefers free girl with the box currently and its a lot of on and off with the characters so its not exactly getting its use. I think I a few months when shes 3 and older she'll use it better. I think in the short run probably not worth it when they're younger in terms of thst they don't fully appreciate it and don't really "get" the function however it gets them used to it in the long run for when they are older.

Love our Yoto. Better longevity in my mind

Avatar

We've got both the tonie and yoto and the yoto is used far more, love it

We got one when my son was 2 - We go through phases of it being used - the figures are expensive!!! Sometimes it’s on all the time and he’ll happily listen to it while playing/ at bedtime and then we can go for months of it not being used at all. I would get one second hand maybe? We’re going to get the yoto mini for my son’s 4th birthday as it’s more portable.

We have the Yoto and love it. My bff has the tonie and loves it!

We absolutely love ours! We use it everyday. He can use it himself so just pops on whatever story he fancies. Sometimes when he wakes at night he will just pop on a story and listen to it go back to sleep. That in itself is worth every penny in my opinion haha

Avatar

Thank you everyone! Never heard of Yoto so I will look into this too :)

Our little girl is 8 months and loves her tonie box

Avatar

We have a tonie which we LOVE but we’re going to get a yoto as well as they have different stories!

Avatar

My girl is 15 months and obsessed with it, keeps her busy for ages as she loves swapping figures all the time 😂

We got the tonie box when daughter was 1 years old, she has used it every day since she got it, and she's nearly 3 now! We are screen free and having the tonie box is a life saver.
However, if I was to get one for her when she was a bit older, I would have opted for the yoto! Went for the tonie box because it seemed sturdier to me for a 1yo

Avatar

We have a yoto mini and it took my LO longer to get to grips with than his friends did with their Tonies box. He’s 3.5 now and we like the Yoto as it’s compact and easy to travel with. The Tonies always seemed a bit clunky- but I think better for a younger child

Avatar

Love our Tonie! He just started getting into it more at 2 y/o

Avatar

I like it, but too this day it’s still to pricey (and I didn’t know that some of the figurines sound like 🫤) but my girl loves the figurines more than anything. She plays with is a bit more these days, probably because she wants to get to it before her brother gets to it, and will insist on using her figurine.

Avatar

We got a Tonie as our daughter loves the character toys and she plays with them on their own often. Some of the free content is really good. Some are imaginative games you can play together. You can make your own recordings. We sometimes put it on when she has dinner or is in the bath. Never tried Yoto but the characters are fun for younger ones.

Avatar

Top tip: look at the reviews, not all Tonies and equally good. The review will tell you if it’s original songs and voices/passable. That being said out daughter doesn’t care with Moana/Little Mermaid, she still loves them.

Avatar

They're fun but we prefer the Yoto

Avatar

I’ll be getting a Yoto

Yoto mini is the best money I have ever spent

We got one for my little boy for his second birthday and he absolutely loves it!!

The Yoto is amazing! I like that it’ll grow with our family more than thé tonie box- baby knows how to put the cards in and loves to switch out his songs and stories and he’ll be 2 in August.

Avatar

We have both yoto and Tonie box. Our 2.5 year old daughter plays with the yoto daily and occasionally plays with the tonie box. I would recommend Yoto over tonie box any day.

Avatar

My 2.5yo loves her yoto. We use it as our travel sound machine too. It’s great!

Avatar

We have Tonie and use it daily for bedtime music which we loaded for free on the figure that comes with. We’ve also got some Disney stories which he loves and it’s all the proper music for the ones we have. Our little boy loves it and can work it himself from early on, he’ll be 2 in August. I am beyond impressed with the durability - the worst that’s happened to it is that he full on drowned it in the dogs water bowl, the water literally poured out of it 😱 but I dried it out thinking the worst and it’s completely fine! 😅 the stories are expensive but good for family and friends who want to get him something for birthday and Christmas x

Avatar

Really annoyed I got a story pod just for the relatives to record bc they live so far. But they never did it. Wish I went with yoto

Love my husband. Love my kids. But…

I’m 32 weeks pregnant with twins. I take care of my 4 yo, 2 yo, and 1 yo. I barely have energy to stand anymore. I cuddle and watch movies with my kids all day at this point. My husband is less pushy in this pregnancy in wanting to be touched or love up on me. But I feel more like a tool these days more than ever. He gets frustrated (not to a crazy degree) but I can tell he huffs because he’s probably sexually frustrated from me not wanting to be touched on. (my boobs are super sensitive atm) I love having the babies part, but the pregnancy also now has me feeling like a baby making machine. And a tool with big boobs made for touches and my husbands pleasure. Ofc I love my husband and kids, but with my hormones all wack, it really doesn’t feel the same when you’re not turned on. It’s so hard for me to get turned on. I’m uncomfortable all the time in my own body. Babies moving in there all the time. My children cuddle me all day but get rowdy at the end of the day, so I end up getting touched out and I can get irritable when my husband tries to touch me affectionately. He doesn’t have the tact necessary for me right now, when I wish he wanted to go in for a normal comforting hug I’m let down more often than not, there is almost always a boob groping involved as well. I tried to just let him touch me last night so he could get it out of his system, but he could tell I felt tense. Wish my boobs weren’t such an uncomfortable place for me to be touched. Idk why I’m making this post. Probably just to vent. Wish men were equally as emotionally intelligent as women. Wish I didn’t feel like I still owe him something because he’s picking up a lot of the house load and yet I still need to ask him to do more before these twins arrive. He’s tired every day when he comes home, so he takes a shower sometimes works out, and helps get the kids to bed. So it’s a struggle getting him to help any further than that. Weekends are my only time to get to him. But it’s a struggle to find time on weekends too. I know if he wanted to he would. But there’s just no drive.

What are we giving our soon-to-be 3yo for their birthdays?

We have the magnetiles, we have the kinetic sand and play doh, we have the play kitchen…

Literally, is there anything left in the world to buy this spoilt kid? 😅

Baby groups?

Hello there!!
I hope you enjoying the 5month babies 🫠 the cuteness outweighs everything over here.
We live in the area of Croydon & need to start going to baby groups ( I NEED it more than him though) but I am a little bit clueless. Any recommendations?
We are happy to travel a bit too.
Thanks ☺️
