Teaching my baby to remove objects from his face!

Okay so ladies my baby is 6 months and 2 weeks and I try and play a friendly game of pick a boo. He sometimes try’s to remove the muslin off his face but I’ve noticed that when anything light like a muslin cloth goes over my baby’s face — even just briefly — he gasps for air or almost seems to stop breathing. If he can’t remove it the first or second try he kind of gives up and it’s like he forgets how to breathe. I’m really worried because this doesn’t seem normal for a 6-month-old. Please let me know if this is normal or should I do something to help him or get him checked out for any breathing issues. Thank you!!

I just use a muslin swaddle blanket and throw it over her face and then slowly slide it down and then say peek-a-boo. I just did it over and over again starting probably around 5 or 6 months. Then she just started immediately pulling it down after a few weeks.

I personally wouldn't waste your doctors time...its not a breathing issue he just hasn't learned the trick youre trying to teach him yet.

I would've just thought it's like a shock/surprise when you gasp for air when something is in your face. I'd just continue doing it with a muslin x
