UTI

Hi all, has anyone had experience with a UTI during pregnancy? I’m feeling one coming on (of course it’s a Friday evening) but it’s definitely not too bad atm and I’m drinking loads of water to try and flush it through. I know you should get treatment for UTIs in pregnancy fairly quickly but is this something that can wait until Monday? Thanks so much!

No, I’d recommend ringing 111. They would be able to arrange antibiotics for you for tomorrow.

Thank you, I just called and they said go to the pharmacy first thing tomorrow morning as they should be able to prescribe antibiotics for me. Does anyone know which are safe for pregnancy? Hoping they’ll still be able to prescribe them despite me being pregnant but 111 seemed to think so. X

Amoxicillin is the first antibiotic that is given to pregnant women. Pharmacy will know what to give

I took pregnancy friendly antibiotics a couple of weeks ago for a UTI and all cleared up :)

STD rates and body count

Saw an interesting video and I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this topic!

So std rates are at an all time high as we all know. Do you think the mindset that body count doesn’t matter has contributed to the significant increase of STDs and HIV?

Secondly if someone says that body count doesn’t matter do you believe they are less likely to practice safe sex compared to people who believe in more traditional values?

It’s her fault for not taking their morning after pill.
He tells her straight up that he’s not going to be involved and that she should terminate it.
She says that she won’t terminate and she hopes that he does stick around

So she deliberately gets pregnant, basically traps him

What would be your reaction?
