Hey moms, my 22 months old is either out for playing or just crying while shouting. He doesn’t eat well, wants to be picked all time. And the tantrums are crazy. Is this happening with you as well? What you guys doing about It?

Mine is having tantrums for all things. I let him have his moments. If it’s because I set a boundary I try showing him how to breath.

Yup tantrums all the time

Mine has been going thru another "pick me up" phase and throwing tantrums. Ngl I pick her up but luckily she gets bored quick and decides to go down. Or I tell her no. She usually knows not to even bother when I'm cooking. Maybe I'm awful but I let her throw the tantrum sometimes, if I intervene she goes even more ballistic and for longer. Sometimes, I'll give her exactly what she asks for and she will still go crazy. Glad I'm not alone.

Mine is the same. Honestly he's been..... easily frustrated since about 18 months. Lately what's actually worked is telling him, let's talk, not yell. It at least gets him down from screaming to a pitiful blubbering.
The big problem is it is hard for me to keep my cool about it. I have to work hard to turn my empathy back on and hear the sadness in him and not just the anger. That helps me respond to him more softly. Unfortunately for him though, there are times when he's going to just have to cry about it lol. I'm not coddling you because you dropped a toy, honey. Pick it back up.

Yes it’s all over. We do what they ask or we don’t do what they ask, it doesn’t make a difference. I am totally exhausted by the end of the day. I also let him have his moments. But it’s too much !!
Thanks for the replies, doesn’t make me feel I am alone

Same. We've been doing timeouts in the Pack'N Play because it's a safe space for her to rage (and not hurt herself) while we all calm down. I typically explain why she's there and ask her if she's ready to do X when she comes out. When she nods "yes" she's usually good to move forward...
IDK if this is the "right" way to handle it, but it's helped with me managing my BIG emotions when she's losing it over what feels like little things 🙃

My daughter is the same! I tell her no more whining and then I plop her in the crib for exactly 1-2 mins and then I come back in and ask her is she’s done. She’s usually calm after that. I tell her if Norah keeps whining and crying then Norah will sit on her bed. Now let me be clear, I don’t ignore her genuine (unmet need) cries, I’m trying to teach her that we don’t just cry and whine when we don’t get our way, which she tends to do a lot when playing with her brother. She literally says the word wah wah wah when she’s “crying” which I know is fake because that’s not what her genuine crying sounds like lol

this is exactly what I do
