Is anyone suddenly having an issue putting their child down at bedtime? She used to go down and settle easily to sleep but now, stands up, cries hard and needs multiple resets. I tried patting and picking up but it doesn’t work and she continues crying. This is the same for naps. The only way to get her down is to repeat and read stories until she eventually accepts sleep and this can be 6 times over. This is how she normally settles.
Her routine is 6:30am up, 1 nap noon-2pm and bed 7pm.
Is this just a regression or is something out of sorts with her naps?
This has only become a problem in the last week. Normally she’s ok.

Could it be the heat? I think that's the reason my baby is struggling x

My LG can be like this but it can be for a mixture of reasons - sometimes it’s because she’s overtired, sometimes it can actually be because she wants a drink or a little snack before bed now but it’s weird the nights I’ve let her go down a bit later have been easier and a better night for her overall - our routine is very unique but goes something like
Wake up - 7am
Nap - 2 hours in nursery (11:30-13:30) but can be up to 4 hours at home but is normally around 3 hour on average.
Bed - we aim for 7:30ish but we’ve been seeing her settle around 8:30/9 lately.
PS she is 18/19 months if adjusted etc

I don’t think it’s the heat and she had a 7 hour wake window yesterday (out of my control) still was the same 🤷♀️
Decided to put her down for a morning nap to see if overtiredness is the reason and again she stands and cries. No soothing works at the moment.

My little one wakes up 6:30 naps at 11-1pm and then doesn’t fall asleep until 9,10 sometimes 11 pm 🤦🏻♀️

really? How do they go that long without being overtired! That’s a long day for you.

I’m having exactly the same with my LO, who’s is also 13m. Fighting bedtime, it’s taking 2 hours plus. Naps are also very difficult and he’s skipped a nap today completely, so is currently on a 10 hour wake window and STILL fighting bedtime!

how do you eventually get your LO down? I’m finding consistency hard when it always backfires.

He laid in my arms wriggling around until he eventually fell to sleep (there were a few tears whilst he was on me). Then he woke up 45 mins later and we did the whole thing again. Fortunately he’s been asleep for over 2.5 hours now so I’m hoping that’s it for the night! Most nights recently though he keeps falling to sleep on me, I transition him into his cot and he just wakes up and cries so I have to go through the cycle multiple times. I just can’t bare him crying in his cot alone. I think it must be a regression or the heat, because he got into a good pattern and was sleeping through

he also won’t sleep during the day unless he’s in a pram or car… which is really unusual because up until the beginning of this week he was sleeping 2 hours in his cot no problem! I just can’t get him to sleep 🤷♀️
