Car seat troubles

Can anyone recommend any ways to get a 3 month old to like their car seat when you have to put them in it? My son will cry and scream bloody murder as soon as I strap him in.

Have a bottle ready try feeding before and if that doesn’t work, try feeding while he’s in his car

I tried that already

I second feeding beforehand if you can! I usually get my baby girl really excited about it by cheering and making happy faces before I put her in and tell her why we’re going in the car seat (it works most times). We also play calming music in the car until she’s good (ocean waves, sing a longs). My little one is really fussy about stopping lol red traffic lights feel like an eternity!!

Sometimes you just need a new car seat, my girl loves hers but we’ve used a cheaper one and she would scream nonstop in it

yes I feed and change him before he gets in the car seat and he is still fussy even with music. Unless he is already sleeping when he gets in the car.

I have a joie that’s not a good one?

Same here honestly I think it’s just doing as much as you can to make them comfortable but in all reality it’s a thing they’ll most
Likely just grow out of . My daughter did when she was around 4/5 months

Avatar

Aw no, poor thing! 😔 maybe try putting him in it during the day at home so he gets a little most used it. I hope you find a solution that works mama!

yeah that’s what I figured happens

Is he comfortable temperature wise? My son cries when he is hot and uncomfortable in it

It might be fine some babies are just particular. My kids love their evenflo revolve car seats they fall asleep right away, but I used a Cosco car seat one time and holy hell she screamed. I’ve seen folks go to Walmart/target just to put baby in the ones on the shelf to see which one they take to

Mine hated strollers, carseats everything u can think of the just wanted hands.
I just had him sit in it and cried bloody murder and i would give up and pick him up. One day I just decided to sit him in no matter what and he cried up 2 hr ofcpurse with breaks but the on day 2 he didnt wanted but he also didnt cry alot he just made winiy sound and by 3rd day hes now sitting in strollers, store carts , toy cars and carseats Thank God! Just have patience and it will pass. Some kids just prefer being on hands because its safer

He was 4 months at that time I think

Avatar

yeah sometimes he will nap in it at home lol

Avatar

yes

Avatar

isn’t that car seat really expensive though?

Avatar

yeah I think that’s how he is right now

The car seat I have is baby trend and it’s like $100 on Amazon, which is really nice

What car seat are you using? Not all created equally. Also did you take the infant insert out yet? Needs to be removed typically at 12lbs but check the manual. Also could have to do with how reclined. Some like to be a bit more upright

Avatar

This has happened to me for all of my kids (4). I just think some babies hate the car seat. I used to use it as infrequently as I could manage. I would rely on walking and public transport as much as possible to avoid using the car seat when they were little, if I could. By the time they were around one year old, things got easier and they were better in the car seat. By around two, they seemed to be completely over the dislike of it, and actually seemed to enjoy it.

Avatar

ours was a bit over $300 I think similar priced to yours

Avatar

do you still have the newborn insert in it ? idk if every car seat has it but mine , an evenflo pivot travel system , did & i had to take it out when he was almost 2 months old bc he looked genuinely uncomfortable. no tears , just uncomfy looking. once i took it out , he looked better ! he never cried in his car seat bc he enjoys car rides , though. i’m really sorry to hear your lil guy is having some trouble :( . make sure he isn’t too tight in it , the temp is okay & he looks comfortable. i hope you find a solution soon ❤️

Avatar

yeah I’m going to look into that thank you

Avatar

Our baby just absolutely hated the infant car seat. My son hated it to even with the infant insert out. We switched our girl over to her convertible one last week and man she hasn’t cried a single time in the car since! Before she would cry everytime and the entire time every car ride. So it’s been amazing!

yeah I was looking into a different car seat but they are expensive

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Bath Time

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Strange question

Hello. I would identify myself as asexual but yes i am married and i have a child. But now that ive had my baby. I think its solidified that im done having sex. I feel bad as my partner keeps asking me but i just dont want to. Any advice on what i can do? Any other asexual moms out there? I guess this could be confusing but im not huge on being bound by a label. I have just always felt it represented me best since highschool.
