I'm left hand dominant and always carry my daughter in my left arm. If I try to carry her in my right arm it feels unstable and I worry I might drop her. My partner on the other hand is right handed but also is more comfortable carrying her on the left so I'm a little curious what y'all do.

I’m the same as you. I actively try to switch to the right to strengthen that side

I’ve thought about this! I’m right handed but absolutely cannot carry him on my right. It has to be my left every time! The right feels not safe or steady somehow 🤷♀️

same! I actually had this conversation with my mum the other day, I think it’s because when we need to do things with our baby in our arms we can as we’re right handed 😂 maybe wrong but hey I tried hahahah x

I’m predominantly right handed and carry on my right. There are a lot of random things I do in my life with my left hand. For some reason I feel stronger to carry on my right and it’s easier for me to do single handed tasks with my left hand.

that's an interesting theory. I learned how to use my right hand for things (especially eating) when I was around 12 because my cat would always lay on my left hand/arm. I'm still a little wonky when I try but it's definitely in handy having to do things while carrying my baby lol

This is a thing that most people carry babies on the left regardless of which is their dominant hand! Let me see if I can find where I read this.
I’m left handed and carry on the left.

Also left handed and carry on my left!! Trying to remember to put him on my right more often to build some confidence in myself lol

I'm left handed and carry on my right because I've got enough strength and grip to keep hold of him while using my more coordinated side to actually do things like open doors or grab bottles etc

@Rachel yes! I've also read that it is the "protected" side because your heart is on the left as well

Clicked the wrong one. I’m right handed but left arm carry
