Hello! So, I’ve been having my baby girl watch ms Rachel on my iPad every night for about a week or so before she goes to bed for about 30 minutes at a time (she sleeps anywhere between 11:30 pm - 1:30 am). She just started learning to sit and she’d sit and stare watching ms Rachel. I am now wanting to switch things up because I think she may be having too much screen time as her grandparents would also hold her in front of the screen during the day when they’re watching tv. What can I do for her besides screen time during the hours before she goes to sleep? I usually don’t rock her to sleep as she just falls asleep on her own (rolls around in bed and eventually sleeps after tiring herself out).

Hello. Imma be honest, im no Mrs perfect mom, so i just let my baby watch TV whenever shes cranky. Its always Ms Rachel and Lucas the spider🕷️. Sometimes i do feel bad, but its what is working for me rn. I would recommend if you dont want her to watch TV maybe reading a book before she goes to sleep would help. I do that with my baby whenever i feel bad for letting her watch too much tv and it usually helps. Her routine is literally warm bath, massage with lotion, outfit for the night, book, warm formula, and she goes to sleep. But, dont feel like a bad mom for letting her watch TV

Reading is a great suggestion! We do bath time (most nights) and book/bottle of milk. Then some singing.
We do screen time with my older kids before bedtime (and we will with our December baby too) but we do it before bathtime. Screens right before bed aren't great for falling asleep as they keep telling us.

These seem like really late bed times. You must be so tired. What's her nap schedule like? Maybe you can help her drop a nap so she goes to bed much earlier. She might not need an iPad by then.

if she sleeps earlier, she wakes up maybe 1-2 hours after. When she sleeps at her usual time, she wakes up around 7 am - 9 am which I prefer for her to wake up 🥹

im honestly not sure what her nap times are as she’s mostly with her grandparents during the day but I’ll ask 😅
Yeah I’d definitely ask cause ur baby might be going to bed late due to much naps or so tired she is fighting it I give my baby girl 2 naps/quiet time one at 10:30am and one at 3pm she sleeps 8pm to 7am without waking up

Babies this young should not have any screen time.

Well I use to do miss rachel but found it was a bit too overstimulating we movies to Winnie the Pooh the 1977 one and mine knock out half way through
