Do I need to worry it’s not a fibroid and actually cancer?

Fibroids can be there for years without causing issues. Only if they get above 3cm or if they're in awkward places could they possibly cause issues.

If you're concerned, seek a second opinion.

Things like cancer pop up in bloods and further testing. I had blood samples taken in pregnancy as standard so if it had been anything nasty it would have been flagged. How far along are you? You might get bloods done further along if not in the UK (we get them done at midwife appointments to check for any nasties and things like diabetes, antibodies, STIs, etc).

Mine was spotted at ultrasound, it grew during my pregnancy and then they removed it during my caesarean (elective and not because of the fibroid).

Most women get them without knowing apparently, sometimes they can happen as a result of ovulation and they can come and go on their own. It’s only when they get big or grow in an awkward spot that they get in the way, mine was quite big on my ovary.

Bring it up for peace of mind, there’s no harm in asking ❤️

I’m in the UK too I have had the standard blood tests 🙂 thank you for all your advice! ❤️ did you not know you had it before pregnancy? I’ve gone down a bit of a rabbit hole and panicking. I’ve been told multiple times it’s a fibroid, even by the surgeon who did my C section. Need to relax! 😂

Sorry, I didn’t know until the ultrasound. It’s very common though but I understand the anxiety especially since your sister was misdiagnosed.

Yeah, UK bloods do a full spectrum sweep a few times so if you did have cancer or something they can usually tell. Same with urine, things flag up and they would do more detailed checks to rule things out
