Hi! I had my second c section 4 weeks ago and they removed my old scar as it was keloid, i’m really unhappy with my scar as I feel like it is really wonky.. I don’t expect a perfect straight line of course but it feels quite drastic to me considering it was a planned section? Some friends/family agree with me and some say i’m being irrational and it’s normal, thoughts please?!

To be honest, it does look a little long and not very straight to me - I know you’ve already heard the “be proud of your battle wounds” etc etc and don’t need to hear that again, but it’s definitely okay to be upset with your scar. It does look it’s healing really really well and I don’t think you’ll have another keloid 🎉🎉🎉
I’ve had the same knee surgeries on both knees and the one side has a little jagged bit that curves funny and the other has a knobbed end and I wish they could have made them look a bit more symmetrical/the same length/etc and I can acknowledge feeling happy about having healthy knees while also being upset they don’t look how I want

I think the scars can all look fairly different depending on so many factors. Mine is fairly short and straight considering I had twins, but is also I think way more high up than other scars i see. I reckon the size of my belly and the babies being breech is the likely reason.

It’s not bad at all, it’s honestly so worth it. It’ll fade very soon to nothing & it looks like it’s healing so well already that’s the main part xx

Hmm I don’t think it’s too high up but it is a bit crooked and long compared to others I’ve seen!
Mine is similar but also I had an emergency c-section. I’m surprised it’s not more tidy if it was planned and not an emergency! I’d suggest seeing a physiotherapist if that’s common where you live. They can help the scar to heal better and create more elasticity in the scar. Scar tape and vitamin E oil with massaging was recommended to me but my skin was very delicate so scar tape and massaging would reopen my wound even 4 plus months later.

Mine was planned and definitely straighter than yours, however I had a stomach line there that was probably more of a guide for them as I’m plus size, usual size 18.
Honestly give it 1/2 years and you won’t even notice it hardly! Mine was soooo faint after my first, and my second I imagine will eventually go the same! (15 weeks PP)
You’ve also got no over hang and just a slightly wonky scar, I wouldn’t worry at all about it!! There isn’t anything anyone will do unfortunately so it’s a case of letting your body heal and learning to love it!! If I had your body and your scar, I’d be over the moon after having a baby!!

Is it possible it’s a bit wonky because of how they took out the keloid? You can imagine they cut straight and then cut out the keloid and then it wasn’t so straight.
thank you for all your comments and advice! I definitely feel validated😆 I guess as my scar was so noticeable and keloid last time and they’d said about removing it, I was expecting this super neat new scar but maybe my expectations were too high and fingers crossed it’ll heal well this time and fade over time as my last one never did! 🙏🏼 x
