Traumatised from private scan 😭

We have a little boy already and this will be my last baby so was hoping for a little girl but happy either way .
Well as we was scanning the women turns round and says “she isn’t playing ball “ me giddy say “she!!” She then back tracks mumbling and embarrassed then few moments later “baby’s a little baby boy” I cried for an hour just for the getting my hopes up absolutely set me back I’m over the moon now two little boys but it was the initial hopes up she really needs to be careful on choice of words 😭😭

Baby was on their tummy and umbilical cord was between legs so she just guessing I feel like I’m only coming up to 15 weeks so room for error won’t be getting my hopes up tho 😂 I wish I waited till I was further along 😩

Depending how early you went for a scan could mean that they have it wrong, it’s recommended to have gender scans done after 15wks 3days as that’s when they become more accurate

Argh so yeah they definitely aren’t correct at 15 weeks, unfortunately it’s just a waiting game now to be rescanned and to be double checked as you’ll be further along it will be more clear for them to tell the sex

I had a private scan before my NIPT. The lady kept referring to baby as "he" and "his" and it really ruined our gender reveal. I am also having 2 boys now too. Happy son will have a friend but would've liked a girl.

Not being rude but if they arent accurate at 15 weeks why do places do them from 15? Just for the money? 🥲 im so excited mines tomorrow and ill be 15 weeks 4 days but ive heard so much about them being incorrect so im scared now

they was accurate with my son it’s just this time round baby wouldn’t play ball and they said girl then boy so I just had an unlucky round this time I was 18weeks with my son I just went abit to prematurely 😂😂 that’s my bad for being impatient

all the ones in my area only do them from 15weeks 4 days, also the hospital don’t always get it right either unfortunately, I had mine at 15weeks 4 days and they were correct if that eases your mind at all ☺️

same one of each would be perfect I’m getting rescanned in an hour hopefully baby plays ball but I just have a feeling it’s a boy now and I bought matching outfits for my son and “him” so we shall see 😩

Sex life (or not)

When did people start having sex again after their c section? This is my second c section and I just feel very weird lol

Should I talk to someone about this?

Yesterday the nurse came to remove my staples and look at baby. She said she has blood under her scalp on one side. Likely from the use of a vacuum. The hospital NEVER told me and I was awake during the c section. I called the nursing line and they confirmed that a vacuum was used.

My mom also said she overheard them say they had to repair something from my last c section but the nursing line says they have no notes.

I'm really upset. They talked about informed consent but they never told me about the vacuum or what to expect after.

The nurse who came to my house told me should could become jaundice as the blood under her scalp absorbs and I will need to wake her for feeds.

Losing mucas plug after sweep

To anyone who's previously been pregnant, I'm after some insight please.

I'm 39+1 today and I had a sweep on Friday and I've been losing my mucas plug all day today each time I go to the toilet. I know that losing the plug doesn't necessarily mean labour is going to be soon but I wondered if that 'rule' changed at all after a sweep or can it still be days/weeks away.

You wake up, something’s off with you or the baby or whatever, you call up your normal GP - not including A&E or walk-ins etc - how soon can you get an appointment?

I feel like a lot of people from the US don’t understand how shit the NHS actually is here, but at the same time is it just as bad over there?

Section pain

I had a section Thursday and so far it’s been a good recovery, but today I feel more pain in the left side of the wound and a slight ache in my stomach. My husband has looked and says it looks fine. Anyone else experience this and can give any tips that might help?

Implantation bleeding?

Can someone please advise. I’ve had a faint positive pregnancy test yesterday and today. I had some small brown spotting yesterday and then earlier today me and my partner had sex which followed with some bleeding.. is this implantation bleeding? The bleeding has now stopped.
I’m 10dpo.
