14 weeks and no routine

Hey!
Starting to get a bit worried about our lack of routine for our little girl. She is 14 weeks on Wednesday and we still just go with the flow in the day time for naps (looking for sleepy cues) and the evening. Some days she’ll be asleep at 7.30pm, some days it’s 10pm. She sleeps through the night most of the time until 6/7ish. Can anyone reassure me that it’s not just me 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 we are going away in a few weeks so was thinking of starting after that. Is that too late? Am I creating bad habits? Thank you in advance!

Does the way you do things work for you? Does your little one seem happy? If so, then you really don't need to change a thing. Babies, similarly to adults, come with all sorts of personalities and temperaments. Some will thrive in order and won't cope very well without a strict routine, while others will be completely ok with less rigidity. There's really no right or wrong here.
And bear in mind that any sort of routine you establish will probably change several times over the next few years. Old habits will be replaced by new habits.
So if the way things are now works for you then keep at it. When they stop working, you'll adjust xx

My little girl is 16 weeks and I was getting a little worried myself as a lot of people track naps etc and wake windows and I am so chilled. I know roughly her naps etc and tired cues so I follow that and depends if we have been out and about or chilled. I also posted on here and people said if it works for us and she is happy then carry on doing us. I think some people it helps them having a structure to there day but I have always found it hard to stick to set times so I just follow her lead

I’m the same. No routine. I’m not tracking anything and just going with the flow.
2nd baby here for me so he kinda just has to go with the flow of what we’re doing.
My baby is 3 months now (20th May)
But it’s working perfect for us and I’m not worried about it as he is perfectly happy and doing well.

Don’t worry at all.
With my first we didn’t have any routine either and she is perfectly fine with sleep etc!
So you carry on doing what works for you xx x

Some people force their babies into routines. I asked a friend how her baby always goes to bed at the same time. Well, they wake him up at 8:30 PM if he's already asleep, and they start the bedtime routine at 9:15 PM, so he's in bed by 10 PM.

I’m not sure I’d want to wake my baby just to stick to a schedule made by the parents. Plus, my baby doesn’t need a routine to fall asleep, and it seems like yours doesn’t either.

My 14 week old is the same. I’ve never stressed over a routine and just presumed she’ll eventually find her own one. I can predict when she’s tired in the evening and I know she’ll have a morning nap. The rest of the day I just let her sleep whenever and whereever she wants.

Really don’t think you can have a strict routine at this young age. If baby is sleeping well, healthy and happy then please try not to worry. Think social media, friends/family and even this group doesn’t help sometimes. I personally find all the information too much and want to follow my instincts or less baby is really struggling.
You know your baby best and no two days are the same. Sounds like you’re doing a great job 🙂

Same here! I don’t really understand how I could set a routine to be honest? He has kind of made his own routine but as you say, sometimes goes to bed around 7:30, sometimes around 10! But it works for us as we like to be flexible and be able to go see family and not have to be at home by 7. He doesn’t sleep through the night though, and I thought maybe it was the lack of routine - but I think it’s just how he is!

Sounds normal to me, I was like this with my first and he is a brilliant sleeper if that makes you feel better, we are totally baby led and it works for us!! If it works for you keep going!

I have no routine with my daughter. My mum got shitty with me the other day because I don’t have a routine for her and she said I’m making a rod for my own back later down the line 🫩 My partner and I have just ignored her and carried on as we are, our baby seems to fall asleep quite easily anyway and I’m not sure what the benefit of a routine really is at the moment as she seems fine and is still really young 🤷🏼‍♀️ she has a bottle anywhere from 10pm-midnight and then sleeps until 8/9am. Works for us as we often see my partners parents in the evening and we wouldn’t be able to do that if we were doing a daily bath and bed at 7 😊

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Strange question

Hello. I would identify myself as asexual but yes i am married and i have a child. But now that ive had my baby. I think its solidified that im done having sex. I feel bad as my partner keeps asking me but i just dont want to. Any advice on what i can do? Any other asexual moms out there? I guess this could be confusing but im not huge on being bound by a label. I have just always felt it represented me best since highschool.
