I had to remind myself that I need to fill my cup up too. And it would be easier to keep my daughter’s cup full in return. I took up sewing and joined a mom book club . I had to go out of my comfort zone to do things I knew would bring me joy. It’s hard but it’s worth it ! And hopefully you will start to feel more yourself also. Joining any mom groups or baby classes in person really helps me also. We are all in this together 💝

I had to remind myself yes I’m a mother but I’m also my own person I still need to find ways to do stuff I enjoy like going out for a couple hours even taking the baby with me to do stuff I enjoy if I didn’t have a babysitter. It’s a Learning process for everyone your not alone a lot of moms go through this feeling of not knowing yourself anymore at first

I feel this way. My baby is the same age. I’m in therapy using Prospera & also using a psychiatrist but everyday is hard. I can’t simply leave the house bc he is a very high needs baby. Not at all a quiet potato like a lot of babies I see in public.

I felt this way too…like you’re losing your old life and missing who you were. Speak to your OB about therapy options. I do online therapy every week and even got a prescription to help with the sadness.

I committed to doing everything I did before becoming a mom, even if it was only a percentage. I felt like I was losing myself during pregnancy. I continue to read my favorite genre of books everyday even if it is only 10 pages, do my skincare, run at least 2x a week, work, do date nights, have a girls night every other month, and a few other things. I create goals outside of being a mom. It has worked very well so far. It isn't always perfect, but it reminds me of who I am in addition to being a mom. Maybe you can incorporate one or two things you loved before becoming a mom and incorporate it into your routine. Also, create a goal to help you prioritize your interests.
