Weaning

Is anyone else finding it incredibly hard to wean their baby, like just fitting the time In, they fussy, they nap when you planned to feed them, then you get so much judgement from the health visitor if you say your 7 month old isn't having 3 meals a day (even though they push milk is their main nutrition at this age)? I sometimes feel like I'm the only one struggling and other mums Ive met are doing it no issue or maybe just less hard on themselves my partner said it's only been a month and a half and not to be hard on myself

Every baby is so different! Try not to listen to any outside noise and do what works best for you and your baby! X

It’s definitely really hard to start weaning. I found that doing breakfast and dinner has been the most effective and easiest for us. Breakfast is first thing and then dinner just a few hours before bath and bed. Just find what works for you, but also don’t put so much pressure on it! These things are only “guidelines” do what works best for you and your family❤️

I tried loads of different ways before finding what worked best for us.

I feed my little one the 3 meals a day when I eat! Don’t plan particulars of times so each day is a bit different depending what we get up to x

It’s so difficult trying to fit it in between naps feeds and then if you plan to go out omg literally impossible! My son definitely doesn’t have three ‘meals’ but I try to get him to have three lots a day, breakfast is porridge with strawberry puree, lunch is maybe toast which he doesn’t eat much it’s mainly squished up then tea is a veg or fruit puree!
He doesn’t eat a lot for lunch or tea but it’s a start!

1. Get a new health visitor cause it’s true that milk is the main source until after 1 year & food right now is about exploring & checking for allergens.
2. I struggle too and sometimes it’s just smashed avocado on toast cause it’s the quickest thing or even just toast & butter.
3. You are still trying so that deserves a pat on the back. It’s hard to prep food for an extra person especially when they are fussy & just want you!

I got the moon& rue cook book which is really helped me, it has quick recipes that you can make a batch of & save for other days so you’re not having to prep& cook everyday.

You got this xx

Genuinely lucky if I squeeze two meals a day in and I think it’s totally fine- can’t get stressed over it because I know I’m trying my best 🤷🏽‍♀️ It’ll happen, baby is well fed (milk!) and is exploring tastes whilst I’m getting used to being more efficient and taking on a new skill of making food for a little one- which requires adapting! I’m starting to make a lot and freeze so one of the meals is a frozen cube I just defrost and the other will be something I make. That’s on a good day as babes is teething and is quite fussy if I put her down, and her naps are short so it’s hard to find the time!

I found weaning really overwhelming in the beginning and I didn’t really start until mine was 7m down to being 1) overwhelmed and 2) my LO wasn’t sitting up until 7m so I didn’t feel comfortable trying to feed her food.

It’s so much information and everyone has an opinion. Some people do shop bought purées, some people make pancakes and french toast from scratch. It’s really individual but it can also be so low maintenance if that’s something you want. Food atm is for fun and learning new tastes and textures, you don’t have to lean big into nutrition if you don’t want to.

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
