Moses basket or next to me?

Really struggling on a decision. I haven’t had a baby for 17 years so I’m starting all over again lol had a Moses basket then. I would really love a next to me and looked at the snuz pods and I love them but we’re definitely going to struggle on the room for it. There’s ain’t any way for our bedroom to be moved around to give more space but I may just have to just suck up the small amount of space between the bed and the bedroom door, I’ll just have to do some squeezing through lol but I still love a Moses basket too. What did you guys go for?

Next to me crib for bed then we used rocking moses basket for downstairs. She refused to sleep in next to me for a weeks so placed the actual moses basket in the next to me so she slept at night

Next to me you will get plenty of use out of, last time I thought I wouldn’t bother with a Moses basket but was definitely being a bit naive thinking I’d be moving the next to me around, we bought a pretty cheap moses basket on sale in Tesco and tbh only used it for about 8/9 weeks because my little boy outgrew it but I definitely think we needed it for those weeks or we’d have nothing to lay him in safely downstairs. I know some travel systems have a stand you can buy for the bassinet to use as a Moses basket, that would probably be pretty practical! A lot of travel cots have bassinet attachments now so if you’re thinking of buying something longer lasting and not wanting to waste money, that could be a good option because you will use that for the next few years x

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.
