Breech baby

2nd time mom. Just 2 weeks ago baby was head down, today (36 weeks) at the Dr they did an ultrasound because they couldn’t map baby and said he’s frank breech and my options are ecv or schedule a c section. I’m spiraling. Just last night I felt his hiccups way low down and now today hiccups are up above my belly button. Has anyone else experienced this? I REALLY don’t want a c section. Anyone else’s baby just flipped around a lot? I’m praying he’s just got a lot of room and is super active…

Same thing happened to me and after a week baby went back down. I did put an ice pack at the top of my stomach & also did the doggy style position where ur upper back is way down.

My baby was breach around 34 weeks, I used my yoga ball and a chair and went upside down for as long as I could tolerate it, I did the same thing with the bed, I had my knees up on the bed and my lower body on the floor and was basically doing a headstand

I also used sex, it’s not evidence based but when I ✨finished✨ and my stomach contracted I gently pushed baby towards where he should be and it could have worked but I also did the hot on the bottom and the cold on top thing some people are suggesting

My baby just flipped he was breech from 32-35.5 weeks! (I’m 37 weeks today)
They said since my first baby was bigger he just had extra room and was comfy in there.
Lots of yoga (cat cow, downward dog, inversions, bridge pose)
I would vote yoga! Look up some YouTube videos that help! “Spinning baby”. Also your posture can affect the baby too! So I changed my sleeping position to encourage him to roll as well as how I was sitting in a chair or the car was twisted instead of straight.!

and then the ECV. I hear it’s about a 50% chance it works. BUT that’s better than a 100% chance of c-section! So I think it’s worth a shot.
I was just in your spot! The big head up top hurts. Lots of lotion! The feet on the bladder!

So, I got told at my midwife appt before my waters broke 40+6 that my first born son was head down ready. The hospital left me in labour 23hrs doing the cervix checks. It took to 23rd hour on the dot with no progress and me in absolute pain and a trainee midwife to check again and ask I’m not sure if I’m feeling his bum or his head? It was indeed his bum and for the whole 23hrs he was bum first (frank breech) legs to face. Unfortunately that resulted in chaos for me in the room and I had to be taken for an emergency c-section. He was perfectly healthy and fine he just needed a few hip checks after. This time I’m having elective to avoid it all, because I think she is also breech I’m 29 weeks and feel lots of kicks and jabs to my bladder. Baby could turn or they could turn baby but baby could just move again. I found out months after my son that my womb tilts to the left naturally it’s not straight so that’s why baby couldn’t turn. It’s scary but we have to just go with the process. ❤️

do a handstand and help to turn around idky they went straight to a c-section if you’ve mentioned you want a vaginal birth.

ask them to assist or to get a midwife or nurse that can help the baby turn around .

there’s many things online you can do to help the baby turn don’t be discouraged

Go to the spinning babies website and do those exercises. You still have time and your baby might turn on their own if you’re really trying. A friend of mine did a successful ECV, so I would try that next

I'm in the same boat she's been breech my whole pregnancy and I'm 35 weeks today. My provider told me if she's not flipped by my 36 week appointment I have the same two options and I refuse. A friend also suggested going to a chiropractor that does spinning baby so that's my next plan if she's not flipped by next week. My mom also told me I didn't flip until she was in labour so that's also possible too! Don't lose hope!

Small head reported following 20 week scan

Has anyone else had it flagged that their baby is in the bottom 5th percentile for head size?

They said everything was fine whilst we were in the scan and then I got a phone call the next day saying that it’s on the small side and we’re being referred to a paediatric specialist at St George’s. Has anyone else had this and how did things go??

Would you bring 9 week old to a family party of 35+ people?

These are also people who will want to pass the baby around and get a turn to hold him. He just got his 2 month shots two days ago

Exercise 6 weeks after c section

What movement did people start to introduce? I won’t do anything too vigorous until I’ve seen the pelvic physio as I don’t want to compromise anything that may have been extremely weakened through pregnancy! But just wondering what types of classes/movement people started off with?

Induction experience

I just wanted to share my experience with being induced as I wasn’t sure what to expect and thought it may help others.

I opted for the foley balloon which was inserted at 8am Saturday morning, I had to stay in hospital due to hypertension and protein urine however usually you can just go home once this has been done. The insertion of the balloon was not painful, was slightly uncomfortable as there was slight pressure. I actually found having the cervix checked prior to be worse (again not painful at this point just uncomfortable) The balloon had little effect and after having it removed I was still only 1cm. Removal also was pain free and hardly even noticeable.

I then had my first dose of the gel and definitely noticed a difference, I started experiencing period like cramps almost immediately however they were light and manageable. After 6 hours I had another cervix check and although my cervix was soft it was still only 1cm and was only open at the front. I had another dose of the gel and felt an increase in pressure and more intense cramping where I now required pain relief (codeine). After another 6 hours I had another cervix check and I had now dilated to 2-3cm however was still quite difficult to get all the way through so a third gel was recommended which I agreed to.

Almost immediately I noticed the difference and was in considerable pain, I had paracetamol and codeine however the contractions had now become intense and a lot closer together (around 3 minutes apart). After a couple of hours I had my last cervix check and was 4cm and taken down to the Labour ward to have my waters broken and an epidural.

I had been in my room for approx 20minutes when my waters broke by themselves and I was now 10cm and actively pushing…. There was no time for the epidural and my beautiful girl arrived into the world within 2 minutes of pushing.

All in all I would say the cramps/contractions were manageable up until the third gel where it became pretty unbearable however it was for a very short time a gas and air helped take the edge off. The worst part about any of it was actually the later cervix checks where after stimulating the cervix my contractions were at their most painful.

If I had to be induced again I would skip the balloon and opt for the gels immediately as thy had a quicker effect and I would have been out a lot sooner if I had done this to begin with.

One more thing, I’ve never believed when people say “you forget the pain once they’re here” but I can honestly say this is true. It’s been 4 days and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
