I'm in my second cycle of IVF and have very low amh. Last time we had 6 follicles and got one blastocyst that failed to implant. This time I only have 3 follicles growing and have the difficult decision of whether to go to egg collection or cancel the cycle 😔😥 how do you make this decision?

I’m sorry to tell you this but you should cancel, I had 14 cycle of IVF, if i go back I would save all the money on cycles with low follicles count, never got any blastocysts from those cycles , but don’t give up I eventually got pregnant at 43

I have had 3 full rounds of IVF.
6 eggs, 1 embryo and no pregnancy
5 eggs, 2 embryos and a single pregnancy
3 eggs, 1 embryo and no pregnancy
For me, having less eggs made no difference to the number of embryos I made. When I didn't respond as well during my second IVF round I nearly cancelled but glad I didn't as it gave me my beautiful daughter

Just to add I always made blastocysts and had retrievals but didn't stick during the first and third round. You have to think of quality as well. During my latest round my follicle number was so low the doctor told me just before my retrieval to expect no eggs or maybe one collected. I ended up with 3 eggs, all mature and all fertilised. All three were looking good on day 3 and ended up with one blastocyst day 5. With my first and second round although I had more eggs I had similar results as my third round, as only 3 eggs were mature then so was at the same point e.g. mature eggs and fertilisation, day 3 results as my round with only 3 eggs. I know everyone is different but try not to give up hope. IVF is such a gamble and you never know what could happen.
Thank you both so much for your replies, we went ahead and feel so lucky to have got one blastocyst 🤞✨

That's great news. So happy for you.
