Toddler and a new born

I won't lie I left my daughter in, partially because we had to pay to keep the spot, but mostly becayse it allowed me to rest and recover. Contact naps were fine, I napped when she napped. My 2yo loved her daycare teacher so it just made sense

I have 2u2 and my second is just now turning 2 months. Having them both while im alone is still pretty hard but has just now gotten manageable.

I might have lost it if I had both of them alone from the beginning. Toddlers very much dont realize how delicate new baby is and its hard.

Id keep the older one in daycare if you can. Thats what I did and it was a major help.

I left my son in. He has way more fun there and it's good for him to socialize with kids, BUT where I live daycare is subsidized... it we had to pay what Americans pay there is no way I'd be able to. My future SIL has two the same age as ours and finally gave in to part-time at a home daycare for her toddler because she was not doing well.

We dropped from 3 days to 2 so we now don’t pay anything for my eldest to go 2 days a week. He has to leave his current setting and go to a pre school after Christmas and the fees will work out roughly £500 a month so I’ve decided to keep him at home Jan-March until I return to full pay in April.

I made this choice before I had 2 children and I won’t lie I’m low key dreading it. I love my toddler to bits but 2 is hard! I use the two nursery days to go to baby classes and easily get out of the house. Baby uses them to get decent naps where he’s not woken constantly by his brother.

But ultimately for us it was a financial decision for us too.. I’d rather use that £500 a month to do things rather than pay a nursery when I’m on very little income x
