Has anyone had their second midwife appointment? Do you get to listen to the heartbeat? I'll be 17 weeks at mine

I have mine in a few weeks, and my midwife said I’ll get to hear baby’s heart xx

I had mine last week and yes we did😊

I’m not sure if it’s because I’m under NHS Wales or not (so different rules) but just had mine today and she said that she can’t use the Doppler until 24 weeks xx

She did when I went in for my 16 week appointment

Yes the 16 week midwife appointment they usually listen to babys heartbeat. I did with my previous two and I have mine tomorrow

I didn’t at my second appt at 15 weeks
Tbh it felt like a pointless appointment 🤣

I didn't get to listen to the baby's heartbeat which was disappointing. It wasn't even offered. The whole appointment just felt rushed and like my questions were inconvenient.

I had my 16 week one on Monday and she said they don’t do the Doppler at that point any more as too many women were struggling to find it (due to baby size) and it was causing a lot of panic
With my previous 4 kids they all did at 16 weeks

I think it depends on the MW as with my first she said she doesn't do it because sometimes u can't find the baby's heartbeat and it then makes u panic but my friend was under a different MW team and she got to listen to her baby. My apt is next week I'll be 18wks so will see if they'll do it this time

I had mine Monday and yes we heard the heartbeat x

I had an appointment today and we didn’t listen to it, she didn’t ask. I’m high risk though and last week I did get to hear and see baby again with the hospital consultant so I’m ok with it.

I had mine yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat. I also had a gestational diabetes test (due to family history) and they did blood pressure and urine tests

Yes I had mine yesterday and got to listen, it’s different with different trusts tho! I also had a blood test to see what the baby’s blood type is x

Had mine today & they used a Doppler

With my first they started listening around 24-25 weeks xx

I had my 16 week on Monday (I was 17+1) and I got to listen to it with the Doppler, I also had an appointment last Wednesday (16+3) with the consultant and the midwife who did my checks let me listen to the heartbeat x

I had mine last week and the midwife listened to the heartbeat. I’ve heard that not all trusts do it at the 16 week check up anymore but it’s worth asking for it if it’s not offered

I also had mine last week and we got to listen to the heartbeat. Was scary at first as we had a student midwife who couldn't find the heartbeat 🫣 luckily the experienced midwife just pushed baby down and found it within seconds! 🙏

I got to listen to the heartbeat at the second midwife appointment. It may just depend on the GP surgery or the midwife.

My NHS area doesn’t do Doppler/heartbeat at 16 week appointment, I was gutted as thought this was the norm. Hoping I will get to hear it at 20 wk scan :)
