We took my girls dummy away about a week and a half ago and although she’s definitely been a bit moodier, she hasn’t really asked for it and not used it for naps/bed. However, last night she woke me up at 2am basically screaaaaming for it and crying, so after an hour of trying to settle her I gave in and said ‘let me go ask the dummy fairy if we can borrow it just for tonight’ so I gave her it. But im worried if now reopened the can of worms because she’s done the same thing tonight after I just put her to bed 😭
Any advice on how to ease the removal of a dummy? Because I cannot function on little sleep but also want her to be happy enough without it 😅😅

We opened some of the stitching on our daughter's favourite teddy and got her to put her dummy in then I stitched it back up. Now she tells us how Sophie is looking after her dummy for her and when she wants it she cuddles Sophie.

Following! We’re looking to remove the dummy very soon, we introduced the dummy fairy but she’s not struck on the fair taking it forever so I’m looking for something else and going cold turkey even though she just has it for her nap and sleep at night is just not for us 🥲

My son gets his dummy after he falls asleep, so if he wakes in the night he can grab it without me having to get up. I wait until he falls asleep and then sneak back into his room and put it in his bed 😂 so he doesn't depend on it to fall asleep but he still has it if he needs it. The only other time he gets it is at nap time at nursery
