Mine was painful

Hi! I find hand expressing personally quite uncomfortable and unsuccessful but one thing that really helps is having a hot shower or bath before hand, getting relaxed and massaging your boob for 2-5 minutes first. Then gently make a c shape with your hand around the boob while squeezing gently a few times, work the c shape all around your boob moving back to your chest and forwards towards the nipple. It shouldn’t hurt. Don’t overdo it or try too hard, not everyone is able to collect much or any at all and if you can’t it doesn’t mean you won’t be able to breastfeed <3

I’m using the medela flex electric one 😅 I just thought it’s not much different to the manic, almost forceful hand expression I was doing! 😅 did you do it with your first at all?

I’ve given up, I’m 38 weeks and can’t collect any.
