Tongue/lip ties and introducing bottles

So I'm 95% sure my 3 week old has a tongue and lip tie, my first also had a tongue tie. I'm EBF, her latch isn't the best and she's taking in a lot of air and therefore has reflux and is super uncomfortable and gassy, she is however taking in a good amount of milk and seems to be feeding efficiently considering.

My issue is that I want to introduce a bottle this time round, I didn't do it early enough with my first and she was never able to use a bottle... I'm still feeding my now 2 year old so could really do with my newborn being able to have a bottle in the evening with dad. I don't want to introduce a bottle while her latch still isn't the best as I don't want to affect breastfeeding as I don't want to have to pump for every feed... I also, however, don't want to leave it too long and her sucking reflex already be gone and have her struggle with getting to grips with a bottle. I don't knwo if I'm over thinking it? This baby will take a dummy wheras my first wouldn't so I guess she's already used to having soemthing else in her mouth and may still be ok if we wait till she's had her tongue tie assessment (3-4 week wait) or it might just be too late?

If anyone has any advice or stories of their own that are similar it would be much appreciated

Youre over thinking it mama. Each kid is different. This one will probably take a bottle because they are accepting of the soother. They have tbe sucking reflex as long as they are nursing.
You also have options if they don't take a bottle. Could try a straw, cup or syringe.

Relax mama go with your gut

We had a similar situation (but were so lucky in that we were predicted a 6 wee wait, and were seen within a week somehow), hopefully theyre giving you worst case time wise 🤞🏻

We introduced a bottle after a few days as he was clearly struggling with the tongue tie and his latch but really researched paced bottle feeding and made sure to keep going between bottle and breast to ensure supply/minimise bottle preference.
Personally, we also found the mam bottles the best too.

If you havent already, I'd really look into paced feeding and i hope you get sorted quickly. Can feel so stressful 🙏🏼 x

Bottles and dummies shouldn’t be introduced until at least 6 weeks to establish breastfeeding first, when you do just make sure the bottles are pace fed to avoid a fast flow preference. Are you seeing an LC for help with the latch?

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
