I meant no - they don’t need one!

Honestly no, they become addicted and the tantrums ive seen arent good. They also dont interact with others at dinner for example if you also allow it then. Weve been pretty happy not having an ipad child and i can give pointers if you desire

Tried it- his temperament was terrible even with screen time. We stopped after 2 days.

I wouldn’t but my son did get one when he was 2 yrs old and it’s for learning most of the time. He can go days without touching it or want to be on ABC mouse a lot

17 months is a bad age to introduce it, because thats when tantrums start along with emotional maturity. Personally I wouldn't start, but if you use it very sparingly and only for appropriate educational uses you might be ok. Or just use it to facetime family members

We got our son a fire tablet around this age during prime day sale, since it was so cheap. But we only really use it when we are traveling. It’s not something he uses on a regular basis. He currently is 2 and we allow about an hr of screen time a day but actually just got him a tonibox in hopes to reduce his current screen time. I personally wouldn’t spent the money on an apple brand ipad until older. ipad’s are way better then the fire tablet, but $50 vs $300–$500

get a leapfrog

Tbh yes, just do a screen time limit, and education stuff only. I think it’s a good thing in a way bc that’s how they learn abc’s fast before school or numbers. Specially if you’re a busy mom. Sometimes we don’t have time to manage everything. So I think yes !

Absolutely not, my son is 3 and doesn’t even acknowledge my iPad they don’t need it

Nope, health organisations recommend no screen time before 2 for a reason. Children just don’t need an iPad, my daughter is 6 and never been on one.

I mean honestly I don’t think an iPad will do your baby any harm as long as your timing it . 25 mins should be enough especially for a 7 month old it’s nothing wrong with that child having an iPad it’s all about how much of their day you let the iPad consume. My child has been using his iPad since he was 6 months I’ve always given him a strict time limit I follow and he’s as smart as a crow & he could care less for his iPad anytime it’s time interact

My 3yo has an iPad and my 1.5yo has an iPad. They use them on and off but definitely aren’t glued to them and prefer playing together or playing independently with their toys. If at any point I felt they were becoming too reliant on them they would be removed but as of now they pretty much self regulate and use them sparingly anyway

Don't do it

Omg no.
