I’m a FTM and my son sleeps on my chest every night. I stay awake with him during this time and when I need to sleep, my fiancé takes over. I’m scared of transitioning him to his cot because he has random gagging/ choking episodes and posseting when sleeping on his back and I’m terrified it’ll happen while I’m asleep and he will choke.
Is there a way I can safely sleep with him on my chest? My fiance has to go back to work soon so our current arrangement won’t work when he does.

My baby is also 3 weeks old, and I had the same problem. Now we sleep face to face, usually with my arm as his pillow, and with my other hand in his back or head. I also put a mini pillow under my arm so he's not completely in his back, bc he gets reflux. Just my experience, hope it helps!!

My baby slept like yours until she was 2 months old and we let her cosleep with us. I know we shouldn't but that's the only way that all of us can sleep. My baby refuses to sleep in her bassinet

Same here - baby only slept on me for first 3 months I would say and so we just coslept. She wouldn’t tolerate sleeping on her back at all at the beginning.

My baby is the same. If I put her on her back she will gag on her saliva. Currently 2 months. She co-sleeps with us on her side or on my chest. & I will continue to do so until she stops the gagging.

Yes, you can safely chest sleep if you follow the guidelines such as firm mattress, pillows behind you (not underneath your arms) and blankets up to your waist only.
