So going by my last menstrual period I should be 7 weeks 4 days. Ive had spotting on and off since christmas day so went early pregnancy unit for a scan. She said she could see a 6 week Gestational sack and to come back in 2 weeks for a re scan. Obviously because of the spotting im preparing myself for a miscarriage. But has anyone had similar to go on to have healthy pregnancies? I feel like a whole week and half behind on dates is massive.

I’ve had 4 total pregnancies, 2 of them ending in miscarriage. I have had spotting / bleeding that ended in miscarriage and spotting / bleeding with a grape size clot that is now just shy of 2 years old. My current pregnancy was measuring behind 8 days but no complications this pregnancy. Unfortunately until you get scanned again you’re in limbo. My one recommendation is that for any future pregnancies, try to refrain from scheduling that initial scan too early as that can lead to a lot of confusion.
Praying for positive news for you on your repeat scan!

Yes I did, I started to spotting when I thought I was 6+4 weeks I went for the scan and I was 5 +1 they told me to go back after one week and it was growing, then again the following week and it was a heart beat. Since then I continue to spotting until 15 weeks, every time I was so worried. But now I got a beautiful 17 months old girl

I wouldn’t panic too much yet, as going off periods isn’t always accurate. Both my two previous pregnancies I was measured a week or so behind but I was expecting it as I was tracking ovulation and knew that my cycles are longer than average and I ovulate late. For this pregnancy I wasn’t tracking ovulation but I still knew I had longer cycles and sure enough when I went for an early private scan I was bang on (just going off when I started testing positive which for me is 9dpo)
So if you’re only going off period it’s completely possible that you had an odd month and ovulated later than usual and so will be ‘further behind’. I know the spotting is making matters more complicated but as long as it doesn’t get worse than as above unfortunately you’ll just have to wait out the next couple weeks which is torture. Sending hope 🤞🏻

I have spotted with all my pregnancies. My first pregnancy I spotted very early and then I full-blown bled at 11 weeks and we thought I was miscarrying, but baby was healthy. During this pregnancy, we thought I was farther along than what I am, the first scan we couldn’t see absolutely anything. The second scan, I spotted about three days before and the scan showed six weeks and one day. baby was healthy, we were able to see the flicker and heartbeat via transvagional scan. If you need some reassurance before your scan, ask your doctor if you can test your pregnancy hCG. I had my blood work done every two days between my two scans and being able to watch the numbers rise and increase was so reassuring, they should double every 48 hours roughly if it’s viable. My OB had ordered mine, but she told me that most walk-in clinics can run them as well.

Could she see anything else apart from the gestational sac? A yolk sac? A fetal pole? All 3 should be seen by 6 weeks.
Do you have irregular periods? Maybe you ovulated later than you think?
Hope all is ok
