Hi girls, I had an emergency c section 7 months ago, and I still have a shelf. I am 50 kilos & 5ft1 so I know for a fact I am not over weight. I train 6 days a week, I walk minimum 10k steps a day, I drink lots of water I count my calories and have a good protein intake, I do daily scar massages and I STILL have a shelf. I want to know if anyone has ever been lean and still had a shelf ???? I don’t know if this is something I have to have surgery to get rid of, I cannot find anyone’s body type online the same as mine 😭
It’s not just a small bump either it’s a proper shelf it sticks out maybe 2.5cm standing side on, it’s not hard it’s squishy so I just don’t understand

Heeey, I had a c section and have a shelf and found a c section massage helped. I paid for a specialist to do it as the shelf can be from the scar tissue pulling, not sitting right and being super tight. I found it made me look slimmer. Granted im no stick thin human and have sone podge as well, but the fact I do little to no exercise and the shelf is going... suggests its working...?

Hey you said you workout etc , do you do deep core work? I also workout etc and still have a shelf but it’s definitely reducing I do core 3 x a week so wondered if you do core & if so what excerises? Happy to share mine if interested

Unfortunately this is something that comes with a c section, after you've had a baby it can cause organs to sit differently which in a normal delivery can cause a shelf, after a csection you have 7 layers that have been cut or torn and scar tissue etc that generally doesn't go back.7 months the is still very early after a c section it takes atleast a year for swelling etc to go down. There is surgery but involves mesh and skin removal which has risks and further scarring , the mesh can also be rejected by the body causing internal infections even years on. You need to give your body time to recover it takes atleast a year to 2 for the body to fully recover after having a baby plus belly is normal hips widen and will stay wider after birth. Its part of being a woman. If you go to the school gates look at every mum there only 1% will be super lean with no lumps of bumps and they are the ""lucky"" ones who "snapped back" please go easy on your body, it took 9 months to grow a baby, went through a big surgery

Heya, what I found is really helping me is this brand called SayBeam. They are a sculpted brief like underwear you wear daily not at night to give yourself a rest but they have special banding in them that’s pulls your core together which intern helps the self come up and as your core will become closed together the self will disappear. You can google them just thought I’d share what’s been helpful and see if it would be helpful to anyone especially with c-section and ab separation (ab diastasis) 💗
About to be 29 weeks tomorrow time is going so fast but also hurry up 😂

I’m seriously so unsure on if my water broke or not. I had a bad “I need to pee feeling” as I was bending down to grab a trash bag and when I got back up I felt like I tinkled myself a little and then I was like oo yeah I gotta go. Before I know it, I can’t stop and it keeps coming. I feel like it really could have been that I thought about it too much and a little coming out made me want to pee more but this is my 2nd pregnancy and my water did not break the 1st time so I’m unsure and now stressing out. It happened like 40 minutes ago and I haven’t had any more “fluid” since then. I also could not tell the color as I was wearing black pants but it did smell like mainly urine

Can’t believe how much my baby looked like a baby at my private scan! 8 weeks 2 days via abdominal ultrasound. Got an nhs scan tomorrow due to HG, hoping they’re still cooking away nicely. After two miscarriages this year it’s the first time I’ve got to see a heart beat❤️🙏

First time mum and have my 20 week ultrasound tomorrow!
Very excited I get to see my baby boy again!
How long will the appointment last?
Also I understand this is likely to be my last NHS ultrasound which feels so crazy because it is only half way through pregnancy!
Wondering if it is worth getting a private ultrasound later on?

So I just went to a kid's birthday party with my little one today, and I felt like I was sooooo awkward. I didn't really know anyone, and spent most of my time focusing on my baby. I just feel like I struggle so much to "act natural" in social situations, especially in large group settings. My fear is that I'll somehow pass my awkwardness to my kid. Any other mamas out there feel this way?
