Oldham hospital

Anyone birthing at Oldham and have had a really bad experience with getting hold of anyone on all numbers provided. I’m trying to chase up bloods and urine results after they left me with an infection for a month without contacting me, I’ve not had any updates or appointments since my last visit and I’m 35 weeks and been told I need more scans, I’ve not seen a midwife since 28 weeks and I have a few questions and not seen my consultant since 31 weeks but baby weight has dropped slightly and he wanted another growth scan but can’t seem to get through to anyone on numbers provided. I’m also high risk

I would complain and ring is it PALS or something they take them seriously. Oldham hospital is a joke they pressured me into getting induced and said things like oh I know x who went over41 weeks and her bay died etc in a bid to convince me to get induced and laughed when I said induction results mainly in csection and guess what happened. Exactly that. The aftercare was absolutely horrendous to the point I bawled my eyes out crying begging for help (couldn’t move my legs) they just didn’t care. My next one I’ll prob go for Manchester. Ring every single number on the app and if they say it’s the wrong number say I’m fed up of not getting though! If anything happens to me I’m gonna hold you liable and watch them change their tune! Good luck and hope all is well x

All else fails March into triage hun! I moved here otherwise wouldn’t have just randomly chosen this hospital. Such a nightmare but if anything I felt more looked after pregnant then post partum 😭

It’s a nightmare, been trying for a week to get in touch with someone and can’t get through to anyone. I’m considering just turning up at this point 😭

Maternity triage - contact them asap or go directly to them. I’ve contacted them on the numbers they’d given but it would take a day or two. If it’s a mobile, send a text explaining the urgency. But would recommend maternity triage asap. I had to be induced at 35 weeks due to an infection and had an emergency c section. Please contact or attend maternity triage unit. In Oldham hospital - it’s the first floor and F2 or F1 if I recall correctly. Within first 15 mins - a midwife/nurse calls you in to have a check.

I’m 9 days post partum and have had so many issues with the community midwives. I was told to call triage and explain what the issue is and they will escalate.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
