I had my previous baby at the Portland privately which was great but I want to try a different private hospital this time around. Has anyone got any recommendations for private birth hospitals in London, might opt for a scheduled c section as my last baby was nearly 5kg. I’ve heard about UCLH, Lindo and St Thomas but has anyone got any info/ prices and experience with these? Any help appreciated

I didn't have a private birth but what I will tell you , is at 22wks my waters broke and I had to be transferred to St Thomas and the care before and after was just amazing, I cannot put into words, my son was born 24wks He's now 4 in march 😍- I then went onto having my daughter 2yrs later i had all my care with them, Sadly I didn't get to St Thomas for my girls labour as she came so so fast , even thou I'm out of area it's just top tier hospital for me and holds fond memories as my son was in nicu for 4months there 💜

I’m giving birth at Tommys - can’t recommend it enough. The Westminster suite is gorgeous!! And the views are the best in London - literally x

I gave birth in Chelsea Westminster hospital. I did the check up through NHS during pregnancy there - which was good , no complaints at all. But I didn't want to give in the NHS ward and stay in a room with 3-5 other mothers and their babies and my partner not being able to stay with us. So, 3 weeks before edd I booked myself in with their private wing, Kensington Wing, and it was the best decision ever. I would do that again. I had my private birth room. My own designated midwife checking on me all the time and she was amazing. After birth we were brought to our private room, with a second bed for my partner to stay with us 24/7. Food could be ordered for both of us 3 times a day a la carte, in between we could ask for drinks and they were brought to the room. We had to stay 6 days cause our newborn had to get antibiotics. Therefore I was so happy I went there. My partner never left a day, he was totally welcome there, it felt like in a hotel 😅 the midwives were very attentive...

They had a nighttime nursery and you could give them your baby to sleep and rest. If I had to stay in a room with other mums, without privacy, etc ... I had gone bonkers.
They came regularly to check on us. Took time to help my partner and show him how to do things, feeding, nappy change, etc ....
They wanted a deposit when I registered, which was 7500 GBP for vaginal birth, C-section was 10000 GBP I think. Because we stayed there one week in total, my insurance had to pay an additional 7500 GBP, so in total around 15000 GBP .

I used the Westminster suite at St Thomas’ twice and loved it. Amazing care. My obstetrician was Dr Jess McMicking at the Westminster Women’s Clinic.
If I had a third I would go there again in a heartbeat. Amazing experience during pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

I am going with the Kensington Wing at Chelsea and Westminster, with consultant Charlotte Deans. I have so far really liked the hospital and the midwives there. The rooms are great as well and it’s all very calm. But obviously can’t comment on the birth yet
