12 weeks old

My Lo is 12 weeks old and am genuinely struggling on what I need to be teaching him, so far it mostly been tummy time and exploring his hands and feet but I feel like there is more I should be doing! I am also back working which has made it harder to figure out what he needs, I feel like I am failing him. He has also been marked as delayed with social cues, smiling, grabbing ect but he’s usually fine with smiling and holding my fingers and following sounds so this has confused me, anyway advice is welcome 🤗

12 weeks is still very young. Every mom feels like they’re never doing enough don’t beat yourself up too hard about it give your baby some time and give yourself some grace. There’s not much you can teach them at this age, but just be as present as possible and always talk to them/narrate everything you do, your baby sounds very normal. The only thing I would pay attention to is his eye contact, and following sounds/ his hearing.

I love the instagram account “ontrackbaby” but it sounds like you’re already doing great and tummy time and floor time are super important at this age :) every child has their own timeline

i wouldn’t stress at all, that’s still so young. maybe start reading books to him every day if you haven’t already

I like the Babysparks app, it gives you age appropriate activities to help you teach your child, and it caters the activities to your child's needs based on your feedback

You’re doing everything that you should be. Tummy time, songs and stories for short periods where they tolerate. We do fixing and following with sensory toys. Also allowing him to feel new objects, trying to get him to hold on. My son is also 12 weeks now. You can’t really teach them anything at this age just allowing them to explore new things. Don’t beat yourself up you are doing your best xx

Seems like your doing what your supposed to, try dangling toys in front of baby and get him to follow the toys with his eyes and or hands, tummy time very important, read to them, have conversations with them? Maybe try a kick piano play mat so they can learn to use their feet

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
