Weight loss while breastfeeding

Hi! First time mom here, struggling to lose the baby weight and almost 5 months postpartum. Does anyone have tips that helped them lose weight while maintaining supply? I’m going on my honeymoon in June for our one year wedding anniversary (postponed due to pregnancy) and I just want to feel better about my body. TIA!

Ik it’s frustrating but the rate of losing weight while breastfeeding is largely genetic. But you can make progress with a conservative deficit around 500 calories. Strength training is the most efficient because more muscle = more fat burned at rest. Walking is also the best and easiest cardio to fit in. Up your step goal by like 500-1000 steps each week, max 8-10k is sustainable. In terms of maintaining supply, you’ll want to prioritize protein and quality carbs (whole grain bread, oats, brown or long grain rice, sweet potatoes, etc). You’ll still want to get in a decent amount of healthy fats from things like avocado and nuts/seeds but definitely control the portions here. And if you can get lab work done, check that your hormone levels are balanced as much as what could be expected while breastfeeding. Especially thyroid and A1c or some other blood sugar marker. Could also check c-reactive protein as a general inflammatory marker

walking & super strict diet unfortunately 🥲 i lost 60 of my 70 lbs gained in pregnancy by 7 months pp & i had to “eat like a dog.” not eating for flavor at all. eggs or oats for breakfast, chicken and rice for lunch & normally a modified dinner if not just chicken & rice 😂

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

How many words

Just a quick gauge of how many words your little ones are saying at this age. I heard by 15 months it should be 5 words, are most around this mark ?
