When i gave birth i did end up with an epidural but i didnt get a button that u could click to get more pain meds. All the moms i know had one! I did not!! No clue why!
Then by the time baby arrived my epidural completey wore off. I was too tired to realize. Were nurses or someone supposed to ask me if i wanted another??
Im just so confused

No, only some hospitals offer whats called a "Walking Epidural" which is the epidural with a button. I had one with my first and then had a normal epidural with my second. Different hospitals so thats why. If the epidural is working they will NOT give you another one the only reason you would get another one is if the first one didn't work or only worked halfway

Abby is correct! A full epidural does not have a button, only "walking" or partial epidural blocks have a button! I started out with a walking epidural with a button and then we converted to a full epidural and the button was removed.
ETA Also: an epidural doesn't "wear off" it's a continuous infusion, so you don't "get another" they can just change the dosage if you're having pain and you haven't reached maximum infusion yet.

Your epidural definitely did not wear off lol. Tired or not, you would know if your medication stopped relieving pain.

There are different kinds of epidurals and sometimes they can offer different ones but won’t ask unless you directly ask the anesthesiologist about the kind you want or the dosage you want.
As mentioned above, some hospitals, only offer a specific type of epidural for labor
