Baby sleeps around 6.5 hours sleep straight a night so I don’t wake in the night which is great, but it does mean I wake with engorged and leaking breasts (I’m currently breast feeding) I worry as this is the second time I’ve got a blocked milk duct from this - but I don’t get what I am supposed to do, I am only 3 months in, I have another 3 months left of breast feeding atleast - am I supposed to just let them go engorged each time or do I seriously have to set an alarm for in the middle of the night to pump for half an hour each night?

If I woke with engorged breasts I would hand express a small amount until I felt comfortable then went back asleep. My boobs adapted very quickly to the change in sleep pattern. It’s amazing how quickly boobs adapt to the change in demand from babies. It just would be nice if babies would let the boobs know in advance.

If he’s constantly sleeping through your body will adapt and stop producing milk at that time :) may just need to express a little in the meantime

How do you get your breastfed baby to sleep longer at night? :)

Your body should adjust after a few consistent days of not being needed at that time (if you can, try not to express as it tells your body you still need it). That’s what happened with my first (no luck with this baby sleeping that long yet haha) xxx
