massage the breast (towards the nipple) before/whilst pumping and expressing, hot compress before pumping/expressing and then cold compress afterwards. These helped me in the first couple of weeks of breastfeeding now 1 month postpartum and very rarely become engorged!

Hand pumps or Haakaa are a rather affordable option that you can often find at your local big box store or maybe pharmacy. Not how I'd want to do every pump but helpful while you wait or if you just need to take the pressure off once in a while as you go through your journey.

Can you afford to go and buy a manual from the store. And id start using that every 2 to 3 hours until your one from insurance comes

Definitely a hand pump! Sometimes I even get a better output from my hand pump it just takes longer of course
