During pregnancy, I had my heart set on going to a birthing center; I’ve had bad experiences at hospitals and I was fearful of how they would treat me. When I told my OB this, they looked at me crazy. I later found out my insurance wouldn’t cover it 🙄 If you had the option, where would you have given birth?

Unless the birth centre is directly attached/inside the hospital I'd go hospitalyou never know what could happen and health and safety of everyone involved is most important

I agree with Jaz. I didn't know I was going to ultimately need a c section until I was in labor. A birthing center attached to a hospital is the best bet in my opinion.
I think we as a society champion natural pregnancies and childbirth so much that we forgot that half of women passed away while giving birth due to the lack of the modern medicine interventions that we have now.

Birthing center that has direct access to a hospital/OR. I had a picture perfect pregnancy, labored to 10 cm and developed severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome between 7-10 cm. My labs came back as they checked me and I was at 10 cm- I was in complete liver failure. I never had a single symptom before labor. We immediately went for an emergency C-section - myself and my son would have died if we hadn't been somewhere equipped with an OR.
My SIL on her 4th kid (previous 3 all quick/easy labors completely unmedicated) needed an emergency C-section because she failed to process past 6 cm after 4 days in labor and developed severe chorio.
You absolutely never know how labor will go.

I'm very paranoid so it'll always be hospital for me 🥲 gods forbid anything ever actually happens but if it did id want to be close to surgeons, but if I wasnt paranoid id probably prefer home or birthing center. Hospitals are admittedly not the most comfortable

Home / free birth alllll the way! Less stress, no unnecessary interventions and overall a way better experience ✨💜

Always a hospital with a nicu.

I really wanted a home birth but I had a c section for my first so I didn’t want to risk it. I don’t live close to any birthing centers so I’m going to a hospital that will help me achieve my VBAC!

Hospital. I like knowing help is there straight away should I need it

I say hospital but only because the hospital I go to is one of the best in the entire world. If I lived near a less renowned hospital I would’ve looked into other options.
The black maternal death rate is too high to just be going to any old hospital.

Home! It's the safest and best place to be x

Homebirth for me. I had 3 hospital births and 3 home births.

For my first, the doc gave me two hospital choices, so I chose the one I was born in.
For my second, I heard it was a good hospital, so tried another one.
For my last (worrisome, 2MCs before), we chose a hospital quite a way away just because we were told that if there was any complications, the baby would be flown there, so we opted to have a planned C-section there.
Hospitals are the safest place for deliveries. I prefer safety first.

The results of this poll make me sad, and the comments stating hospitals are the safest place, unfortunately women are misinformed and statistically home is the safest place. Please do your own research as well as asking for people's opinions xx
I see lots of babies on social media already holding their head and mine only lifts it briefly for a few seconds on tummy time and for a second when holding her upright.
Also she’s not rolling yet.
Just turned 3 months .

I went for my anatomy scan she said baby girl is perfect. But then referred me for a 2nd anatomy scan to check for placental problems. I asked was there signs of any issues and she said it’s just a precaution. But many of my mom friends say they haven’t had to get a 2nd opinion and feel she should have be more straight forward.

Hi guys, I was wondering how I’d go about calling the maternity unit at the hospital to let them know I’m in labour in preparation of a water birth. I was told by my midwife to contact them once I start labour but unsure whether I’d call 999 or triage as it wasn’t clear in the conversation.

I’m 5.5 weeks pregnant. I had a C section with my last baby almost 4 years ago. Did anyone else experience more cramps with activity in their pregnancies after having had a C-section? I’m thinking it might be due to scar tissue? I’m really worried bc the pain is pretty intense. Any and all feedback is welcome! The doctor is no help

My 7 month old hates water, I have tried everything and there is no way he will drink any water at all, just spits it out.
Any recommendation? x
